Kanaha Shapes and Groove comparison from a noob

This may be useless ramblings but these boards seem to be on many peoples radar so I will give my impression. I'm a intermediate foiler but totally addicted. I ride 12 months a year and I'm working on skills but having a lot of fun. Like many I was very excited when I saw Gunnar's review of the Groo...

Boardriding Maui bar end solution

I don't believe I've seen this mentioned elsewhere and this company deserves a shoutout. I really tried to embrace Greg's style of winding the lines but I didn't like it, especially for self rescue. I started converting traditional bars using the BRM release and sheeting system. I found this less pr...

Re: Pocket Board Cover

I ordered the 43 inch keyboard for a 42 inch board and it just fits. I created a slit for the foil and put zip ties into the zipper so they don't get off track. It works amazing. Great suggestion.

Re: Kanaha Shapes review and other intermediate musings

That's a great idea, Grigorib. I just ordered one off Amazon for $30. It will take a little Macgivering to get the mast to fit but not much and I'm an expert at destroying things. Thanks for the tip.

Kanaha Shapes review and other intermediate musings

I've been on the waiting list for a while for a Groove Skate. I still want one but tired of being told 25 days. Somewhere in the Groove Skate thread someone mentioned Kanaha Shapes and I went to the site. https://www.kanahashapes.com/shop I ordered the 42" (106 cm). I had some back and forth with Ho...

Re: Oceanus kite reels: i still see them

I used the Oceanus when I first started kiting. I found it super helpful when learning because it allowed me to focus on the kite. However I feel it also made me lazy around acquiring solid body dragging skills. I certainly had many violent wipeouts and never once even had a close call with the boar...

Referral for a good beginner kite instructor for the Bay Area

Hi. I have a friend that wants his 15 year old daughter to kite. She an accomplished sailor and he sees this as the progression. Any recommendations for an instructor that's good for beginners? I'm in Mass so I'm not familiar with the local scene although I love Crissy Field. Thanks

Re: 2017 Lift Foils

I have the 110, 130 and 170. I think the 130 is money. Hell, I'd sell the 110 if you want it. I don't notice a big difference in the high end between 110 and 130, but 130 has a considerably lower take off speed so the low end difference is big. I'm no expert. I'm addicted to foiling and have moderat...

Re: Wanting to buy secondhand splitboard

I have a Nobile 138 lightly used split with the travel bag I'd be willing to sell. Great board but I'm so into foiling I don't ever see using it again. I also have the Nobile Infinity Split. I drilled it to accommodate liquid force mast plate. Works great. A little heavy and I've gone with a differe...
