Re: foil attached to twintip

It might work but why do it? It is going to flex like crazy it won't be pleasant it won't have much buoyancy it will be really hard to learn to switch your feet why not get a proper board!

Re: Reasons why Toby should delete Climate Change Threads

I don't want to get into the whole climate debate but I don't think this thread or the other super long one bring much value and useful information to the kiting community. It's a good idea to reduce our impact on this planet that feeds us but this is more of a discussion about the well being of man...

Re: Recommendation on cold weather kiteboarding gloves

It gets pretty cold here in Canada and just about everyone uses those: They are brilliant thin enough not to get you arms tired and very warm. Good grip and...

Re: Foil Hi-Rise Lift Cabrinha

I have the 2019 X-Breed it's a nice solid and ligth board. I have used it with my Shinn P and Moses 633 works great with the Shinn not so good with the Moses. It's also a nice surf board too! But I haven't tried the Hi-Rise foil!

Re: Can I still use an old Concept Air 6m Wave?

A lot of people were using those years ago when I started kiting it's a 3 line fixed bridle kite. I would not go out in high wind it's not comparable to a 6M modern LEI kite. It would work fine in moderate wind on the snow but a 6M fixed bridle is a very powerful kite in strong and gusty wind it can...

Re: Buying demo kites - bad idea?

A true demo kite that has only been used a few times is fine but a kite that has been used for teaching that has been crashed hard many times and repaired is not a good idea. Ask them how many times it was flown approximately. Personally I never buy kite with repairs. When I buy long distance I only...

Re: How much wind can a single strut handle

I have 3 single stuts 2 Ultras and one Boxer but when the wind starts cranking I find the the weight advantage of losing 2 struts is far outweighed by the benefit of extra stability and wind range that you get with them. For very light wind on a foil it's a big advantage it helps keep the kite in th...

Re: Single strut kite comparison

I have owned 3 different ones. The Liquid Force Solo was a big disappointment mainly because of the weight it was heavier than many 3 strut kites. I sold it right away. There was a lot of flapping on it too but it was decent for jumping and powerful. Not very good for foiling it would Hindenburg lik...

Re: Board Recommendation

I was almost the same weight as you last year and I am also from Canada. My regular board is an Axis Limited 138x42.5 and my light wind board is an Axis Ultra 148x47 I lost a whole lot of weight this year but I am holding on to those boards because they are amazing. I could go smaller now but they a...
