Re: Lightwind Kite recommendations (Big guy)

I am almost as heavy as you and I often the only guy riding at the beach. I have owned and demoed at least 25 big kites and foils (I still own several foils). My absolute favorite is the Best Roca 17 it is flawless fast, powerful, huge wind-range light bar pressure crazy hang-time. Best is potential...

Re: Best bankrupt?

I just ordered a 9M Roca from a dealer I know. Now I will have a 17-12-9 I figured that was a safer move than online. That is such a shame Best going under the Roca is a phenomenal kite for Big air/ Old School. I have been riding Best kites for 10 years almost I also have fond memories of my waroos ...

Re: Axis aluminum foil coming soon

I have 2 Axis kiteboards and an Axis Surf and they are brilliant everything I have tried from Axis so far has been top notch! If they make a foil that may be what's needed to win me over!

Re: Best bankrupt?

I wrote to someone who works for Best yesterday and that person did confirm that there is no plans to close the business but they acknowledged that the company is going through rough times.

Re: Better kite to Jump Higher and tricks old school

In terms of LEI The Best Roca is amazing it's designed for Old School Big Air keeps you up there forever and brings you don't super soft almost impossible to have a harsh landing! As far as the foils go the FS Sonic V2 is the real deal!

Re: What's your favorite lightwind kite?

Best Roca 17 amazing kite perfect all the way. Turns fast huge wind range 7 to 20 knots for me (210) goes upwind like a rocket, light bar pressure jumps easily even with little wind and the hangtime is phenomenal. Super stable in the air feels like a 5 struts kite even though it has 3 struts. Relaun...

Re: Ride Engine rope slider bar on Dakine shorts???

I like that solution no need to open the CL every time you hook in and out and this reduces the wear on your CL. I have the Dakine sliding hook thing it's not great!

Re: Depower cleat slips -- any DIY fixes?

I have rebuilt many bars for year and I have never had an issue like that. I use only Amsteel Rope and Clamcleat Racing aluminium cleats. Like this https://seamarknunn.com/acatalog/clamcleat-cl211-mk2-racing-junior-cleat-1-6mm-rope-1009.html Basically that's the same stuff 90% of kite bars use. Mayb...

Re: Cayo Guillermo in Cuba

It is not the school that charges for kiting it's the government. The people who collect the money work for Marlin the company that manages all water sports activity in Cuba. The price is 25 CUC per stay.
