Re: Best gopro mount for kiting

I have been using GoPro for surfing, kiting, snowboarding etc since GoPro 1. I currently have the GoPro 6 black and it's great. For kiting in particular there are only 3 good views: 1) Line Mount: Best view, best angle, most interesting. I have the CamRig and the UGo. CamRig = JamRig and will probab...

I just got it a month ago or so, direct from Cloud 9 (s24), it really is a near perfect foil for cruising and waveriding

Re: wave kite with excellent low end?

9m Airush ultra or Ozone alpha. Range w/foil up progressing to TT is 8knots - 30 knots. Doesn't boost well though.

Re: 2019 Watches

Apple watch 4 w/cellular and the Carterjett band (NATO style clasp is super secure). Sessions app is excellent for surf and kiting. Cellular is great for downwinders and keeping in touch with the significant other I've done >50 sessions both surf and kite with this watch, no case, and it's awesome. ...

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

I flew one of the Hellfish prototypes back in early 2000's, it was great until the leading edge popped during a session! I still remember one of their marketing videos flying the 18m or so in ***claimed*** 5 knots or something like that and they were doing kiteloops and jumps on a twintip LOL Hopefu...

Re: kite for 7-12 knots?

7-12knts is a tough range, obviously foil kites will be best but you will have to learn how to set them up and fly them etc. The next best option is a new single strut 12m.

Re: Kiting in Holland Michigan

I have kited all around Michigan (went to undergrad there and in-law family reunions for years). There are basically no laws regulating kiting, just be considerate and reasonable and don't hurt anyone. Definitely bring your kite gear. Waves actually get surprisingly fun and waist high when wind is >...

Re: Tarp camping, am I missing something?

I have done lots of camping including just a sleeping bag under the stars, tarp, bivy, jungle hammock w/netting, small tent, and car-camping tent. The luxury and comfort increases in that order. In rain or bad weather the luxury and comfort increases exponentially in that order. To answer your quest...
