Re: Prevent body rotation

When the kite is steady at 12 you can release both hands from the bar to help your self putting a board on. That to me sounds like a terrible bit of advice. It's not like he's having to lace some boots, for goodness's sake!.... He said that he is not flexible. I saw students that can’t reach their ...

Re: Prevent body rotation

Other option, if it's possible at your spot, is to put the board on your feet on the beach near the water, and then ride into the water. This is usually what I do if the wind direction cooperates, it's pretty easy once you've done it a couple times. A lot of experienced kiters have died or been ser...

My impression is that Gong Strutless flyes in less wind than Storm Voyager.
What was the lowest wind you were flying Gong?
I've flown and hydrofoiled with the 12m Gong strutless in 8 knots

Hi, do you think it could go lower. What wing size you were on?

Thanks

Re: Gong strutless impressions

The low wing relaunch is harder with strutless but the trade-off is they are lighter and therefore less likely to fall out of the sky during lulls. Pilot error is a different story of course. That’s what I had in mind. If the kite stays in the air during lulls then is all good. I read that gong str...

Re: Gong strutless impressions

with my limited skills set what i found rather frustrating about my 12m Gong V2 is that it wont relaunch under 9 knots if you have water trapped on the canopy behind the leading edge. Then the only way i found i can relaunch is to swim towards the kite, shake the water off and then swim back and re...

Re: Gong strutless impressions

You do not find much information on the gong forum. What surprises me, is that the 10m strutless weigths 2.6kg. The Ozone Alpha 10m weigths only 2.2kg and has 1 strut. Has anybody tested the new Storm Voyager V5 Light-Wind 10m? Same price as the Gong. I have just ordered one 10 m2 Voyager V5 yester...

Re: Gong strutless impressions

That comparison of the Gong V2 & Cloud could be interesting for you. https://youtu.be/0EzfEsFysqw Btw I would consider a one strut for better relaunch, watch his second video. I was thinking the same but they have 13 m and 10,2 m size for one strut model. Not sure what will work for me. Should 13 b...

Re: Gong strutless impressions

On what wing it gets you going? What is the build quality? Do you have feeling that will work in less wind? Thanks.

Gong strutless impressions

I’m considering buying Gong strutless V3 kite in size 12 for foiling in light wind days. I’m 75 kg intermediate rider with freeride foil, and don’t have problems foiling with my 9m kite with 3 struts in winds above 10-11 knots. What I need is something that can stay in the air in light wind 6-9 knot...
