Re: Where to travel Dec - March? Covid restrictions?

I just wonder how many will actually risk that? Random positive test 63 hours before departure and you are in a bit of a mess.

Hoping SA will take away the need for a test come January.

Considering we only got 3 months left of the year a 4 months trip sounds difficult 😄

Re: Kitesurf buddies Bergen

I recommend Facebook. Bergen kiteklubb might work? (Kiteklubb would be directly translated to kite club). Kitesnakk is a Norwegian group with some activity. 3700 members in Kitesnakk so I'm sure some would be able to guide you to some local clubs or groups.

Re: Switching from foil kite to high aspect LEI kite. Worth or not?

Rebel 13m is the most fun I have ever had in marginal conditions. Around 15knots on TT with me being around 100kg. I have no experience with foil kites, but the Rebel is in my opinion sloooow (at least the 2019 version). Might even be slower than my 17m Zephyr (not sure - feels more or less the sam...

Re: Height or weight more important for board size

I can see the point with lever arm, but I find it hard to believe that someone that are 2m and 90kg or 120kg should be on the same board while someone 90kg and 2m or 1.75m should not. The problem is that I personally haven't been 1.75m for quite some years - and when I was I didn't kitesurf. I also ...

Re: Height or weight more important for board size

Some pro coaches prioritize hight for kite selection. And in general not go too small and not be afraid of what used to be viewed as large. Boards have changed and size is not what it used to be. Here is Alex Pastor's advice. https://shop.alexpastorkiteclub.com/blogs/how-to/choose-your-twintip-kite...

Re: China copies of big brand kites?

I don't think this is the thread for discussing tax policies. I got friends living in the US and when you add it all up including university fees for their children, health care insurance etc. the difference isn't necessarily that big. VAT is quite intelligent in the sense that it is progressive - w...

Re: China copies of big brand kites?

......then you (unlucky Swede) are going to pay 25% tax + import fees..... Wow that would be a ton of money considering all of the products that are imported! I wonder who gets to keep those import fees? VAT or I guess "sales tax" in the US. In Europe that rate is usually somewhere around 20% in mo...

Re: Height or weight more important for board size

Why would height matter?

There have been some reflections around width related to foot size on here. In theory that sounds like a reasonable point at least - if it matters much in reality I wouldn't know.
