Re: climate change /unpredictable weather/wind

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/mar/05/global-deforestation-hotspot-3m-hectares-of-australian-forest-to-be-lost-in-15-years It would be interesting to know more about how these kind of activities, deforestation, irrigation etc., influences how this fires develop and spread. Also how it ...

Re: climate change /unpredictable weather/wind

I have taken a look at some of the sources mentioned by foilholio for example, and a quick google reveals they are characters with questionable reputations or no scientific/educational qualifications at all, and/or have been linked to the fossil fuel industry/lobbyist. For example foilholio's "what...

Re: climate change /unpredictable weather/wind

Strekke, I think you need to distinguish Global Warming from Man Made Global Warming. Surely Global Warming should be a question of statistics, proved or disproved with a certain degree of certainty. I'm not sure why Foilholio thinks we are due for an ice age but I think even Marlboroughman agrees ...

Re: climate change /unpredictable weather/wind

I wonder how these fires would have been if there were 500m humans living on this planet and not 8b? Clearly the earth didn't, literally, just burn up when it was a lot higher temperatures than it is today. As for Co2. We could try the opposite experiment as well. Let's remove all Co2 in the atmosph...

Re: Kevin Langeree leaving Naish... with Poll

Funny how one might interpret things differently. To me he looks bored. I will often look like that sitting in meetings listening to something you have heard 100 times before.

Re: climate change /unpredictable weather/wind

Questioning your beliefs is fine, but what do you base your actions on? Why do you get out of bed? Why do you even go to bed? It quickly becomes absurd if you don't believe in anything. Thunberg is clearly an extraordinary 16 year old (soon 17). Thinking back to how I was and how everyone I interact...

Re: Kevin Langeree leaving Naish... with Poll

Always found it strange that people will buy gear based on which pro is riding which brand I think the key here is Kevin showed that a fairly ordinary looking wave orientated kite (the Pivot) also had huge ability at big air and this opened it up to a much bigger and younger market. If Kevin was no...

Re: Kevin Langeree leaving Naish... with Poll

Always found it strange that people will buy gear based on which pro is riding which brand. I guess there is some value in team riders in terms of development, but it is far from a given that the best riders are the ones best suited to give good feedback to developers. Other than that it is just a w...

Re: Kitespots Norway - Bergen

Snow or water? Summer or winter?

Not much to choose from in terms of kiting on water in Bergen. I guess if you are desperate you can go to Herdla. Never been myself, but it is possible to kite there.
