Re: Kite accident in Taiwan before typhoon Masak

That is a doll. You can tell because of the way it is.

Re: Building our own start Ramp for foils

Clever!

You may find winding the bridle onto the bar one turn past the first pulley or two will make for less tangles when you’re setting up, though if you wind too far you won’t be able to lay out the wingtips fully.

Re: Sonic or Soul for foiling progresion

I foil 1 year ago, just jybing yet, not tacking. I have an Hiperlink v1 UL 12m, 2 years ago, now quite damaged,. Why is the hyperlink damaged? can it be repaired? That’s already a good kite for learning. Save money and get it fixed up and tuned. Wait till you’re better at foiling to buy a new expen...

Re: Light wind/low end - span or area?

Buoyancy is negligible, but doesn’t increased volume mean thicker airfoil and therefore increased lift, decreased stall speed, but increased drag?

Re: Marginal wind tacking and big kite handling

Thanks for your reply, but like you on your 10m, I don’t have a problem on the low end of my 11m as the kite turns and moves through the window faster. But in lighter wind than the 11m will work, where I need the 15m to get up, the factors are different.

Marginal wind tacking and big kite handling

In normal winds I can tack and jibe with foot switch with near 100% success. When riding in very marginal winds, I can’t tack without coming off foil, and I have to loop the kite to ride out of it. It seems the kite moves too slowly overhead through to the other side of the window and I am stalling ...

Re: How to go faster? Technique or equipment?

This has been discussed before. Just plain speed on broad reach, or fastest upwind? Equipment: Upwind course: race foil and race foil kite Broad reach Max speed: any kite will do, small hydrofoil, doesn’t have to be a race foil but that helps as is designed for speed. Beyond that it’s stance, skill,...

Re: Flysurfer Sonic Race vs VMG

I don’t race but I like to kite fast on 550cm2 and 700cm2 hydrofoil with strapless pocket board. I’ve had an old Fone Diablo v1 11m for a couple years and still going strong. I love it and it’s plenty docile if you have the skills and experience. I learned to tack with this kite! I picked up a Flysu...

Re: Ozone Hyperlink v1 9m vs. Airush Ultra v2 10m vs. Repair an F-One Diablo

That Diablo is toast, better send it to me. 😆 Seriously though, the Diablo v1 is an amazing kite! I love my 11m. I even put it in a tree, ripped it in half, sewed it back together, and it still flies great! If you have the ambition to foil in low wind, and to understand and tune foil kites, then get...

Re: Shorter board is less playful...!

If you’ve accounted for the possible changing variables like foot or strap position then just give it time to get dialed in and update muscle memory.
