Here's how RE did it: 1) Make a thermoplastic mould of your back 2) use the outside of the mould to form a custom harness Here's how I did it: 1) Make...

Re: Using G&B AR-99 Dyneema for linesets?

Hi, I've got both Premium Ropes SK99 (0,95€/meter) and Liros DC-Pro 401 (1,19€/). I rather go for Liros, definitely stiffer. On a 22m lines set it's only about 20 euro difference. where did you manage to get the Liros from? I ve fone a few Bars with Marlow, they have two types, Kiteline which is SK...

Re: Free kite plans on GitHub

what amount of weight saving can you predict in using DCF 102g/DCF 18g vs Dacron/Ripstop? is the kite going to be stiffer too? Hi, I made some quick calculations by changing the fabric weight in the software. Calculation is done for the GO in size 9sqm. It's only the "naked" fabric weight. You have...

Re: Free kite plans on GitHub

Done some testing with CT1K18/25gsm - exactly same amount of Dyneema yarn and tensile strength as CT1E08/18gsm, but slightly heavier due to different/heavier laminate film. Tensile strength is in the upper range of a 53-60gsm Teijin ripstop, tear strength is double. Ended up using for the canopy CT...

Re: Best kite for learning

Save yourself and other beach users some troubles, go to a proper kite school and get a lesson, 2 hrs could be enough.
And please, do not use a 2008 kite, it might be not safe...

Re: Is your harness weaker than your lines?

uh what? I'm not sure what the photos will help you with. Let me know exactly what you are doing and I'll take some photos for you. Hi edt, I am curious on the padding part. I've a carbon plate molded on my back, need to add padding but would like to avoid glueing it. Interesting the way you used a...
