Re: Stiff or soft fins for kite surfing

Or6: I think stiffer fins offer on average better performances for kiting, but it's just my personal opinion, obviously it depends by weight, level, style of surfing of the rider, what kind of wave you ride... The klokhuis is really a gem. I'm 63kg and I feel the 5'0 is great either for surfing and ...

Re: Stiff or soft fins for kite surfing

Hi BWD,

Please let me disagree. I found soft fins to have weak performance in upwind ability plus being not very "grippy" on the bottom turn. On the other side big and stiff fins change a lot the radius of turn making the board not snappy enough expecially for small waves.

Stiff or soft fins for kite surfing

Hi everyone, Would like hear your thoughts about fins. Do you prefer hard or soft fins for wave riding? Obviously it depends by wave height, rider's weight, personal preference... I'm 63kg, using XS Scarfini on an Appletree Klokhuis noseless 5'0x18x2.1" and Small hemp/bamboo Scarfini on the Appletre...

Re: Don't show us your hook

You guys are very right! It's always good to check your release. What I was also concerned about we're the two little bits on the side of the metal part of the release. They bite a bit the rope and I thought could wear it earlier than expected. That's the reason I protected it with red heat shrinka...

Re: Don't show us your hook

Sorry, my bad! It's a ride engine carbon bar, hole's edges are super smooth, no way it will cut nor wear the dyneema. I customized attachment for Da Kine C-1.

Re: 2018 - Cabrinha Kitesurfing

Looks like tips are slightly smaller - just an impression. New shape, new fabric, little battens added. At the moment there is a demo tour in Italy with Alberto Rondina and Kehai. Hey!! That's a Drifter though and not FX like "huge" was asking about. IMG_7700.PNG As far as I know Drifter comes in w...

Re: Don't show us your hook

What about the rope threaded through the bar, is the bar opening smooth (left pic)? If this is just a drilled hole then it would cut the rope first, because the tension of this rope is much higher due to the lever effect. It's a 4mm dyneema brummel spliced on both side. On the bar side it's just co...
