Re: Best Smart Watch

I have the fenix 2 and been planning to get the 5. One really cool thing about garmen is that you can log all your kite gear and keep track of session count and miles. Wish they also included hours used in the gear summary.

Example from phone app:

Re: Santorini Kiting?

Can anyone provide updated information on kiting in Santorini? Might have a trip planned (not really for kiting but hope to get in a session or two). Plan to be there in May or june. Is there wind during this time of year? Will likely need to rent gear. Saw a place that will rent daily at €150. Appr...

Re: Fixing inverted kite `

Inverted kite is such an easy fix. Put the kite on the water, and pull on one of the outside lines. Leave slack on the other three lines. The kite will flap in the wind and then it will blow downwind, with the one line holding it. The kite will then flap rightside in. Works better in heavier winds....

Yeah an inverted kite is the real problem. How do you fix it, I dunno, usually I just pull the QR, then refly the kite after it sorts itself out if it's possible swim in if it's not. Pretty risky flying a kite inside out.
In this case the kite wasn’t inflated enough (or maybe a slow leak).

Re: Fixing inverted kite `

Yes, don't try to fix that when out. Unnecessary and possible dangerous. Really inverted kite is when it is twisted so that lower surface and struts are above and facing the sky. I've seen that happen couple of times, in one occasion kiter just struggled back to shore with his shitty flying INVERTE...

Re: Beginner

80% Kite 20% Board. Will still have a learning curve with wakeboard background. Kiting is very dependent on conditions. Have to wait for perfect conditions to line up. Can’t just pick a random day like wakeboarding. Also, more chop and swell to get used to. Definitely talk to your instructor about w...

Re: Skin Self-Repair???

Liquid spray bandage and waterproof bandaids. The bandaids usually don’t stay on long. Several layers of duct tape help but also wares off when submerged a few times. Also Soap water and peroxide for immediate cleaning after kiting if paranoid about flesh eating bacteria. Supposedly exists in both f...

“Buttery feel (2:38)” As a big RPM fan I don’t like the sound of those words.
