Re: Why do lines tangle when you release safety

Just wanted to add, some lines are better than others in this regard. I've had so many bars and you eventually clue in that some line sets are stiffer and kink, some are softer and get wooly, some are soft and stay pretty smooth. Over the years I have been more and more selective when buying and now...

Re: How Short Do You Like Your Steering Lines?

Just goes to show how much it is horses for courses as far as personal bar set up goes with different kites and conditions. For sure steady 20 is nothing like 10-25 shifty gusty. Backstall is only of the differences between bars across a quiver. Bar size, line length, depower throw and whether or n...

Re: How Short Do You Like Your Steering Lines?

Okay, first of all, it does not make sense to compare this way. The "ancient" front and rear lines should be equal length when bar pulled all the way in" does not make sense. it differs between brands and individual sizes, and is only a rough thumbrule for newbees who does not know better. Okay, lo...

Re: Kites for foil freestyle

OP here - some actual advice would be helpful please Depends on what you call freestyle. Megaloops aren't freestyle, thats big air Small foil kites work for that as per Adam Withington. Med Foil kites are more airstyle one footer stuff. Im not sure Ive seen much of what I would call freestyle on fo...

Re: ufo fluttering..normal?

I wasn't being criptic. You asked about flutter on a strutless kite. I posted about flutter on strutless LEI's. Had clouds for a few years. Had a quiver of single strut that could flutter too and have even taken struts off kites with mixed results regarding flutter. My point was that you have to sti...

Re: What bar size do you run?

A single bar.... how quaint.

Wait till you actually get into kiting.

If a single point of failure keeps you of the water,

Your pretty much a casual.

Re: What bar size do you run?

Short.

Personally happy to sacrifice big kites altogether. On anything from 10m down... short bars rock.

Re: F-one Bandit 12 deforming when depowered in 40 knot winds

Keep your 7m. I love that size. As you said, it gets lots of use. Keep your eye out for the right deal on a 5m. If you get one do it knowing full well it is not going to get a lot of use, but for some individuals the getting out in small kite conditions makes it well worth it.
