Re: Dakine closes Hood river offices and lays off 39 people.

It's funny that they would mention financial issues so the alternative is moving to southern California? Exactly, SoCal is one of the most expensive places to live and operate a business. Just wait until they experience all the Cal lawsuits for everything imaginable. Doesn't seem like a smart decis...

Hollow Carbon Fiber replacement masts

Idk if this has been posted before but have you seen these awesome hollow carbon fiber replacement masts? https://projectcedrus.com They appear to have adapters that are compatible with all board mounts and many wings. Seems like a nice upgrade if you want to change from aluminum or need a new mast....

Re: Lift surf 200 vs moses 633

I haven't ridden the new Lift Surf foils but I ride their 170 Classic foil and find it to be a great kitesurf foil. Their newer Surf foils are much thicker and reportedly have more lift than the Classic foils. Therefore, for kitesurfing, you would want to go down in size on the Lift Surf foils (prob...

Re: Foil board deck pads

Yes, to remove old deck pads, cover the pad with an old towel. Soak the towel in Mineral Spirits. Then wrap the board and towel in plastic wrap and let sit overnight. In the morning you should be able to peel the pad off and easily scrape away the old glue. how do you remove the old deckpads? Needs ...

Re: Traveling with Lift 170

The modular Lift Surf wings are thicker and have more lift than the Classic wings. Therefore, if you are considering the Surf wing instead of the Classic wing for kitesurfing, you may want to consider sizing down to the Surf 100 or Surf 150.

Re: Lift 200 for kiting

As others have mentioned, I think the Lift 200 is too large for kitesurfing. However, the 170 is great for larger riders & the 150 works well for lighter riders. At 205lbs, I am using the 170 Classic wing and love it. Also, Lift's newer carbon fiber masts/struts are really really nice compared to th...

Re: Firewire Evo versus Vader

I've owned both. The Vader is power hungry and needs more wind to plane. However on a wave, the Vader is the quickest board rail to rail that I have ever ridden. The Vader is great on good waves. The Evo is more of an all rounder and planes much earlier. The Evo is better when underpowered. The Evo ...

Re: whats in a Y!

Hmmm, I fly Neo's in 12m, 9m & 6m sizes. I'm using the Duotone Click Bar with the high Y removed. As others have mentioned, I find it easier to self land in the low Y position and I didn't care for the line cleat wrapping and tangling lines when self launching. To me, the Neo performance seems equal...
