Re: Foil kites on wet beaches

Pumpy full of wind, ram airs are so last year. Single skin foil kites are where it's at. Light, durable, safer to launch, and super drifty.

Single skins are really easy to dry out.

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Nah, same upwind performance as a typical wave LEI kite (My findings with foil and surfboard / skimboard, compared to Cabrinha drifters). it just takes a number of sessions to really get that point of best upwind / sheating on the peak. Agreed. Delicate bar pressure definitely helps to get power at...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Here's a photo of my situation. This is a recently constructed break wall built to protect the shoreline from erosion. The path is probably abut 10 feet wide. Previously the shoreline had rocks, trees & bushes coming down to the water making it impossible to access the water with a kite. The wind d...

Re: Considering a switch to foil kites

of course if your into the very good single skin flysurfer peak foil kites then yes, set up pack down is silly quick and easy, you have to try one to believe just how easy and quick these kites are to set up and pack away, I flew TomToms 4mtr peak kite a few weeks back at Flag beach, they maybe a r...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I'd recommend starting with a 5m for your first peak, and stick with the slightly windier days until you know it's going to work out. The 5m holds structure better than the 8m, turns much nicer, and it's easier to handle if you need to roll up in the water. I started with peaks as a way to safely ma...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

You think you can just move kite if your direct downwind speed is approaching or exceeding true wind speed? Good luck with that :) LEIs are not even in same game. Only thing they are good for is riding in waves with kite. Only possible exception is Cloud - still not best foil wave kite level /singl...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I have used my 8m a lot, on 8-15 knot days. It gets heavy on the bar or flappy if you get above 15 knots. It's not great for power on waterstarts, and takes multiple loops in sub 10 knots, but it's good once you're up riding. Fine if you stay foiling, and aren't falling in much. Doesn't turn as nice...

Re: Ozone vs Airush Click Style C-Loops

Holy f*** knuckles, a new kite brand I never heard of, and yet another new release and chickenloop. It's like an insane asylum. I am actually with foilholio on this one. This feels like Ozone/Airrush is reinventing a vital system like a car break just because it isn't convenient enough for a few pe...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Definitely check your lines are tuned equal, you don't want the bar setup for backstall with a peak. You have to do a few good sessions on the 3m to learn how much bar pressure it needs. The 3m takes a fine touch, and it's the nicest of the peaks once you're used to it. The flapping is likely becaus...

Anyone use P4 or similar small foil kites on grass launch. How do you keep kite on grass prior to launch?
I launch from the side of window, fold the upwind tip over about 20cm, and find something small to sit on the tip, eg. a small lump of wood/stick, smooth rock, or your helmet.
