Okay, pretty sure I'll head to Hurghada for April. I hope to see plenty of you there wearing username badges! Might do a bit of snow kiting in the alps before then just to cut the boredom of unemployment. Was windy at the beach today but after a night shift, just too cold to contemplate - can't beli...

Dear Envious, I quit and plan to kitesurf my nuts off for the months of March and April before my new job in May. Having trouble deciding where to go as it's still pretty parky in the UK. Considering Red Sea, Perth (been there tho), Dominican Rep, S. Africa and now this French Polynesia spot looks p...

To the Brit Boarders:
anyone know a decent policy for watersports gear? The firms I spoke to excluded surfboards and windsurf gear. This is some of my most valuable posessions so I'm keen to cover it!

Thanks
Ben

What I've discovered (no expert though): The main thing is to really lean towards the water to balance the power of the kite. Commitment is the key, and just like heel side riding you must be powered up to go upwind. Lean out hard and pressure the back foot to force the board to carve up wind. Keep ...

Hello All, just wanted to say that learning to ride a directional over the last few months has opened my eyes to how much fun toe-side riding is. All your 'usual' tricks take on a new perspective, wave riding is smooth and you have more options for landing jumps when you over rotate etc. Just cruisi...

I rode a real woodie built by a friend the other day.

He's shaped it out of cemented balsa blocks and glass/epoxy over the top. It looks like a pre-foam Malibu and rides well too. It seems strong enough and is very rigid but I understand the balsa is very expensive.

Anyway, there you go.

I've been learning to ride a directional recently and found it's actually easier to hold down than the TT becase of the grip and the way you can drive the board up wind off the fins - like setting up a jump. In really strong gusty winds the kite and rider oscillate in opposite directions as the ride...

I went out at Lytham a few months ago, just before this incident happened. They have a land yachting club there and advertise that they are using an area of this huge stretch of sand with signs. I don't know how the collision happened but it seems a shame to tar kiters with the same brush. It took 2...

sure we've been here at some point before, but here goes... You nick off work early to find everyone packing up raving about how good it was until the wind dropped. Its forecast 25 knots so you pack your weenie kite to find it's only 10 knots and the 16m still at home. You spot a chick watching you ...

OKAY, found the S.O.B and back in the air again. Bath immersion three times all over - failed Soapy water all over - failed Meditating whilst passing the bladder methodically past my baby soft face - worked. I finally found a spot that made my face cooler - the tiniest pin prick. Don't know if this ...
