Re: climate change / unpredictable weather/wind

NPR was reporting yesterday that the state of Louisiana has been loosing the equivalent of one (american) football field every hour, for about the last 25 years.

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Peak 4 8 meter will fly in maybe 2 knots. Upwind is not good, but on a hydrofoil it does not really matter. It never really takes off and lifts like most other kites can. It just pulls steady, so on the low end you have to work it. What i usually do in light wind is loop the kite to start; if the wi...

Re: Soul kite repair

I am in need of repairs to my 12m Soul. Tear along seam on leading edge next to center intake. I believe it is out of warranty as I am the second owner. I've reached out to Flysurfer for recommendations on where to repair. Would prefer somewhere locally (Tampa Bay area) if possible. Any information...

Re: Moses opinions wanted - low and slow

I can't really offer any insight with regards to the wing, but if you have been happy with the dwarf craft micro, i suspect the alien air is gonna be a big disappointment. Its a huge board and and very noticeable if you have already made something smaller work. If you really think you need more volu...

Re: Glueing velcro to depower cleat?

If you want to use a magnet, it would probably be really easy to push apart the depower line and slide a small one inside. Pull it tight again and it should stay put.

Its then just a question of getting a magnet or something ferrous to stick to the cleat; aluminium alloy won't work.

Re: The Ultimate Line Hack

I think this is a pretty cool trick, and I have been kiting for 20 years now. Makes perfect sense, except for maybe a twist or two in the center lines, the lines are almost always laid out correctly when you wind them up on the bar. All of the problems you get trying to straighten them out come from...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

In my experience, it took at least several sessions for my peaks to really feel like they were " broken in" and developing full power. Perhaps that might be the reason?

Re: climate change /unpredictable weather/wind

For thousands of years, the Indigenous people of Australia set fire to the land https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/world-australia-51043828?__twitter_impression=true Native Americans were doing this also. When we talk about "natural habitat" and even "nature" in general, it can sometimes be a bit misle...
