Re: What are best wetsuits for winter windy extreme conditions?

The thing with wetsuits is that they keep you warm when your in the water. Wind on a wetsuit when your up and riding makes you cold. Dry suits protect you from the wind. Ive been using dry suits daily for 25 years and have never put a hole in one. Get a goretex dry suit and you will be happy. Kokota...

Re: Best hurricane ultra high wind 40 plus knot kite

I been out in 55 mph winds a few times and found that if the lines are too long you get a huge bend in your lines between you and the kite. I ride 20 meter lines when its hectic. One line break in wind like that and its over. Here is a pic of some super steady 55 mph wind.

Re: Ozone Edge V9 vibration

Sounds like the outside lines are too long. Dont let the bar out too far when stearing. Jmo

Re: Boots: Any safety tips?

Dont use the handle pass leash attachment on your harness with boots ( or ever really). Its a lot harder to turn around in boots while you are getting dragged backwards by the kite. All so you could get pulled down and under while wearing boots. Honestly you should never hook your leash to the back...

Re: Drag launch tips, rear line tangle

I have had that happen if you drag perpendicular to wind, I think if you open kite a bit and make sure you drag 5 to 10 degree downwind first so the lines are away from wingtip then the kite rotate and opens up then you can walk upwind to launch. Nailed it! Just make sure your bridles are cleared a...

Re: Riding without sunglasses

Where i ride it's usually a dust storm and have ridden with out glasses and felt i had done damage to my eyes. Ive done this multiple times. When its bright out i tend to squint a lot and get minor head aches. Just pay attention to your eyes. If riding makes them sore then it's probably good to prot...

knotwindy wrote:Yea, I mean who would want to walk their lines out to check for nicks or knots anyway? I mean, why be safe if you can save 25 seconds?

Im checking my lines as i wind them up at end of session. 25 seconds to walk lines is fast! That would be cool to see.
