Re: Conflict with beach user.....you can't please everyone.

Its just the way it is. Some people feel they own the place and accuse you of doing the same. Most people are pretty nice though. We have some smaller launches and I have had people come to the beach and set right up in front of my gear making it very hard for me to come in and self land. If I can c...

Re: Which surf board (for kiting)?

I have the 5'8" Naish Fish and I really like it. I can basicly ride it with my 11m as long as I can keep the kite in the air and have a possible chance of being able to relaunch it off the water. And then I have had it out in 35+ winds on my 7m lit, but still able to hold it down. Really fun board. ...

Re: Kite surfboard vs. Twin Tip cost

Yea the fin boxes are the same as the ones used in regular surfboards... and even if they were a bit beefed up it wouldnt cost that much more, and yea straps and inserts add some money... but its really only the straps. They get mounted to a piece of plastic in the board... then there is always the ...

Re: Kite surfboard vs. Twin Tip cost

Im personally under the impression that all kiteboards (TT or surf) are far over priced... I havent done any research really as too why, but $800 for a TT or $900 for a surfboard seems absurd too me. For $8-900 bucks I could get 2-3 new standard surfboards. And TTs are even simpler then the kite surf...

Re: Slippery Foot Pads?

I still havent had the chance to try the surf pad with wax on it too see. but there is no harm in trying it. It can only help. As for the pad/strap being compatible idk. I know there are many places online where you can order crazyfly straps/pads. The newer ones have a nice bump by the heal to hold ...

Re: share your 8-10mph surf gear choice

Riding waves in winds that light just isnt fun. The kites too slow and requires far to much work. Also you can very easily end up going faster on the wave then your kite and then its almost impossible to save the kite from falling out of the sky. If its that light the waves should be perfect anyway....

Re: Slippery Foot Pads?

Now that the NE water has finally warmed up and I have been able to venture out to some clean beaches I have gotten a few bootieless sessions in. No issues with my Crazyfly footpads which are similar to surf traction pads... but I also keep those straps pretty tight... I did notice that my Naish tra...

Re: Metal Slider for Pulley Replacement

Seems like every time I actually look at my pulleys they are clogged with sand.... once I have some money in my pocket I will probably be placing these rings on at least two of my kites. Not sure if I want to put them on my Screamer or not though... The thing I like about putting them on the Screame...
