Re: Fatality in the UK

And may I add: Do not go out in 30+ knots, or the risk of injuries and fatalities increase big time. I don't fully agree with this. Do not go out completely over powered is a better way to look at it. As an example. Toby flying his 18m at 25 knots is why more dangerous me flying my 6m in 30 knots. ...

Re: BodyDragging Upwind in Shallow Water, help please.

PS: I definitely dont agree you can bodydrag "upwind" in 3 inches of water - as if you have sufficient power to plane without any "keel" effect, you can not really go upwind. And this thread is about that it seems - a board down at the surface where there is no wind pushing it, and he needs to body...

Re: What is your Favorite Kiteforum Post?

One of our locals (Bryan) had a video of his roommate in a Catholic boarding school ranting at him for using his coffee machine and wasting his life kiteboarding. Sadly it was taken down, they probably have real careers at this point.

Re: Cannot get these Cabrinha Sync pads/straps to fit on boa

Thanks for the tips you guys. Yeah leaving them for a hour in a position I didn't want broke them in enough I was able to get them in right holes. Got it all set now. Wen't to the hardware store and got slightly longer screws so the dakine heal straps fit on there too and put some locktite on so I ...

Re: Someone is famous today

How come no sane person have ever heard of this clown? And what is he famous for? Another nimwit with a big ass or something?! I don't care how big their asses are, keep your Idiots away from public spaces, cause they are giving me a headache! I didn't realize he was still alive, he was famous for ...

Re: Thoughts on the 2014 5m Rebel for high wind...

My daughter has been using a 6m 2012 Rebel and it seems to back stall in light winds. She only weighs 30kg so she can use it in 15 knots of winds. I use the same bar and lines on my 8m with no problems .Are the small rebels prone to back stalling in light winds .It makes the kite a little unsafe wh...

Re: Kitesurfing in Decline?

What does it cost to be a Snowboarder? $80 a day on the mountain? ...if you live close to one, far more $$ if you have to travel to a mountain. What does it cost to buy a full suspension Mountain Bike? How much does it cost to Wakeboard? ...the boat alone costs more than a lifetime of kiting. What ...

Re: How far are you prepared to travel for wind?

I drive two and up to four hours one way to go skiing all the time. That's were the big mountains are , so that's were I'm going. Thankfully I have great kite options nearby my home North of Boston, but when we get skunked and its blowing on the Cape(1.5 hours away) that's were I'm going without he...

Re: Kitesurfing in Decline?

Best summary of kiting i've ever read! Can't believe I'm agreeing with sijandy on something, but I second that. The local is like a scene from cocoon. Non athletic middle aged men with lots of coin, mowing the lawn (that's if they can even do that) taking up water space, then leaving their multiple...
