Re: Switching from foil kite to high aspect LEI kite. Worth or not?

I am on the same boat like the OP. I've progressed so much on 15m Soul, can't replicate same progress on my small LEIs in high winds. I can try anything new incl. inversions on 15m but my small size LEIs drop me so fast I am scared of trying something new or anything I do on my Soul. The only diffe...

Re: Height or weight more important for board size

Afaik the distance for the inserts are most of the time the same on all sizes of the same model board, so if you're long and light, I would go for a longer board with less width. That way you can use the widest stance for your length and still keep a decent distance from your feet to the tips, while...

Re: Slingshot 2021 Sentry V1 Bar (any beta?)

Reedin want their bar back... They weren't exaclty the first themselves. Lacuna and Switch come to mind. Ventum uses it too now. A lot will follow probably. This is just a new OEM design by Majestic Design, and imo the best OEM bar as of yet. Personally not a fan of autoswivel, but you can't have i...

Re: Duotone 2021

I ride 2020 rebels and to be honest they are fast enough. For me it’s an old school boosting kite. Any faster and it will be too twitchy for me. Not sure what this constant obsession is to make every kite faster every year. I just tried the pullyless 2020 EVOs and they were way too fast to be hones...

Re: 3rd time snapping north lines

No sleeves. Splices plus pigtails! Most kite manufaturers produce sleeved lines at the kite connection end, but agreed you could use additional pigtail conenctions if required, however it's another addtional point of weakenss. That's because a lot of kite manufacturers are a bunch of lazy and cheap...

Re: 3rd time snapping north lines

The best (strongest) line is Dyneema SK99, try Liros, Southern ropes or Marlow. I would buy a 500kg (front line set) and 350kg (back line set). You will struggle to splice 1.4mm line, buy it from a shop that can sleeve it. You 100% need sleeved kitelines (except for Q-line) contrary to what I often...

Re: Kiting women - becoming more?

Has risen over the last years, but not that much. Still a 10 to 1 ratio in the summers, rough estimate. In the winters a lot less. You clearly see them more at beginner friendly spots. Kiteschool groups are often with more women, still not as much as men, but 40-60 maybe. My guess (also because I ha...

Re: Duotone 2021

Dyneema woven with polyester would be a challenge for a lightweight technical fabric Polyester and UHMWPE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene...what a mouthfu = Dyneema) are very different fibres with different properties....hard to make a stable performance fabric I would guess its unlikely ...
