Re: Peak 4 Self Rescue

Think you credited me with Lezo's idea there!

It is a pretty good idea tho! Lycra over the board then kite stuffed in on the deck for easy paddling ...... nice.

Gonna remember that one.

Re: Kitefoiling First Attempt; Advice?

Ah the memories! Brought me right back to day one.

Keep at it, you'll crack it in no time.

Taxi first, crash well away from the foil, keep the kite in the air and you will be doing the reverse walk of shame in not time.

Re: Peak 4 Self Rescue

Keep winding the lines on the bar right up to the start of the smallest grey bridle lines and until all the orange and blue lines are on the bar. The kite will pretty much taco itself and you can get the tips together. Hold em up to drain them and then place together and get the bar on the outside a...

Re: Smallest kitefoil pocket board size

I've seen folks ride on boards barely big enough for their feet, and I've seen folks swear by their 120cm boards. I think we often fail to discuss something even more important than board length and weight, that's board stiffness. Think about it: you could ride a cardboard 60cm board that weighed n...

Re: pro's and/or cons of pitch stability

I ride a very pitch stable foil and used to think about switching to a smaller stab..... Until I tried one on a really nice swell day. Almost all of the "type" of riding I want to do is quite dependent on a decent size stabilizer. In the size and speed of swell we get here (wind driven) I ride in a ...

Re: Hydrofoil storm kite options

3 meter or smaller trainer kite. Back when I was learning, 3 meter slingshot trainer kite could get me upwind on a twin-tip if the wind stayed upwards of around 35 knots. Obviously, we need something smaller for hydrofoiling. I wonder what the wind range is with a B2 and something easy like the Sab...

Re: "The Hybrid" from Flysurfer

And am out... It's clearly priced in between Peak and Soul not to cannibalise either but I don't think it's representative of what it's worth. Amen. Would be funny to calculate price per gram. They did unexpectedly well selling the Peak to an unintended user group. The low cost helped those sales a...
