It sounds like the 101 is stronger than the 111. I haven't seen a 101 break.

The 101 is not as stiff , it could be the flex takes more load away from the fuselage connection point of the mast

However the 111 rides significantly better due to the stiffness.

I would imagine that hydrophobic would cause a foil to go really really fast... BUT lose all it's lift
