Topic: how does a bow bridal allow reverse relaunch

The bridles don't give you reverse launch. The rear lines are attached to the tips and the tips are swept a lot further back than the tips of a normal kite that's why you can reverse relaunch. All the good depower stuff on the bow kites comes because your front attachment points are way forward and ...

Kitesurfing is colder because you are up in the breeze. You are constantly losing heat because you get wet then the wind dries you and that takes away body heat. You need a wetsuit with a smooth upper body. A rubber hat helps too. For surfing you can sink down in the water and warm up in a decent we...

thank god i live where its warm. free ballin boardies are the only way to go :P Nooooo. Always wear speedos under your boardies or wetsuit. They keep your nads tucked up so they don't get bashed when you hit hard from a great height. I used to free-ball when surfing but you never get the altitude o...

Bridle Wear and Replacement

The Crossbow bridles are sewn directly into the LE so it looks like a major job to replace them. Some owners are reporting a fair amount of wear at these points.

I am wondering if any of the other flat kites are designed to make the bridles easy to repair or replace.

Is the "flying upside down" thing dangerous or just ugly? My bridled foils can fly backwards, inside out and upside down and it is extremely ugly but not particularly dangerous. Also, on Sunday I had my smallest foil doing the helicopter thing on one brake line as I was landing it in the water tryin...

Flysurfer and Crossbow top score in German magazine test

Apparently the German Kitemagazine did a test and the top scores were given to the Flysurfer Speed and the Crossbow. Anybody out there with access to the magazine care to translate it and tell us what it is all about? Speed Flysurfer 74 Punkte Crossbow Cabrinha 74 Punkte Rhino 06 North 69 Punkte Ind...

Kitesurfing harnesses are made to work with several times the load that a windsurf harness deals with. The kite harness is much stronger and made to spread the load better on your body. I had a Dakine windsurf seat harness and it lasted about a month for kitesurfing. The buckles started to slip and ...

... The 06 Vegas has been tested against the bow kites from other companies. Everyone at North thinks their kites blow these bows away. When the smokes clears and hype fades, and more people get to try North's 06 kites, they expect sales to be excellent. R6 sales are strong. Sold out in many sizes ...

.... Yeah cause leaning back till your gliding just an inch or two over the water and throwing a huge rooster is just no fun. I've seen guys on Crossbows riding in either style. It's great to be able to choose and without having to decide which kite to rig. Ain't no thing, bow kites are just...

... Now I just point the board higher upwind, edge less, and sheet the bar out a bit. Once you get your board speed up to ludicrous speed you will start to squirt upwind with less effort. :bye: This is a standard technique from windsurfing. I think the flatter kites have expanded the whole repertoi...
