I like that camera-angle from behind! Where is the camera mounted? Somewhere out of the back of your harness? I'd love to see how you've done that camera mount/set-up!

Re: Strutless kite in development on Maui

Cool! There are obviously thousands of variables in kite design. What difference would it make if you made the wingtips straight across and squared-off, compared to that slight angle that you have in the above animation?

Re: Switch Kites: are they any good?

Thanks for the responses. I think you're right FelixP that the new Nitro will suite my style the most. But in the mean time I got a good deal on a 9m Element and have taken it out a couple times. I did move the depower cleat(as many had suggested) all the way up to the swivel on the center lines(I'm...

Re: Switch Kites: are they any good?

Regarding the Element and new Nitro(--if you were trying to choose between the two). Why would you choose one over the other? I'd use the kite on Maui. Where it's almost always strong and gusty. I rarely unhook. I love to take a TT out in blasting winds and boost as high as possible(throwing some ro...

Re: Switch Kites: are they any good?

Yes, I had the depower rope pulled to the max. I asked the team-rider who I had borrowed the kite from about the stopper-ball, and was told that it could have maybe been moved up another inch at most(because of the clam-cleat). Which would have made little difference. I don't know. I'll take it for ...

Re: Switch Kites: are they any good?

I got a chance to demo a 7m Element yesterday. Winds were probably 25-35. I'm 210 pounds. So this is typical 7m conditions for me. The build and quality of the kite and bar is not cheap or cheesy. It looked really good. Just as good as everything else I've seen or ridden. That is really cool. Consid...

Switch Kites: are they any good?

I never heard about Switch until reading about them on this forum. Their prices are unbeatable. And honestly, Naish, Cabrinha, North and other kite companies retail prices are almost insulting. But I'd rather pay big dollars for quality. Than save some dough and get a piece of crap. There aren't any...

Re: kite looping on deathride: I drowned, died and come back

That's scary! I'm glad to hear you survived! I thought you were supposed to hook your leash to that loop connected to the back of your harness. Where do you think it would be safer to connect?
