Re: This is going to be something Big!

All right, here's a short summary for those who don't want to go to click on the link and watch the promo video: It is a request for money from Adam Boozer and Tim Tewell to produce a "legit documentary" that "shows the state of kiteboarding today". They will do so by filming the 2012 Triple - S Inv...

Re: Airline Baggage Weight Experience - pls add yours

Singapore Airlines - no extra charges for surfboards or boardbags. In theory they allow only 20 kg for economy class passengers, but in practice they tend to be very relaxed. I've never had to pay for overweight when flying Singapore Airlines. Last time I checked in 38 kg of bags and a surfboard and...

Re: Do Cabrinha Kites Suck at Looping?

And a pivot turning kite can also loop REALLY fast compared to even good C kites - so even easier to loop :thumb: But NO power in this loop - so why do it at all ? That was a rhetorical question, right? :o There is always more power in a looping kite than in a stationary kite, and you know it. 8) S...

Re: good kite for one-handed steering ?

If you want to stick with RRD kites, try the RRD Obsession. It has much less bar pressure than the RRD Vision. Of the kites you mention, I have solid hands-on experience with only the North Rebel and Ocean Rodeo Rise. The Ocean Rodeo Rise has pretty light bar pressure, though not as low as the RRD O...

Re: la nina sux for kiting here

i think that North East Europe is back to normal since last summer. there where 2 strange years before - weird directions, early winter without proper storms etc. I liked those early calm cold winters! They resulted in that many lakes and coastlines froze into mirrorflat surfaces without any snowco...

Re: la nina sux for kiting here

I understand what the labels "conservative" and "liberal" mean in the United States today, and how people there (in the United States) who use those labels to describe themselves tend to think about global warming. But, I don't think those labels and connection points work the same in all countries...

Re: la nina sux for kiting here

and it will continue to be a question. As for man made global warming, climate change, just stay away from that topic, because unless you are either a scientist or a layman with advanced knowledge, talking about this topic only tells you whether the person is a conservative or liberal, and the last...

Re: la nina sux for kiting here

It's all pretty confusing. It seems to me over the last few years that we have less windy days but more extreme events. Is that climate change or just part of the current weather pattern? climate changes by definition. those with an agenda want to modify the definition of 'climate change' to be a m...

Re: la nina sux for kiting here

Toby, the current La Nina is weakening now but it is still affecting the weather in Australia, at least according to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.

In East and Southeast Asia it has been another weird northeast monsoon season. Is it because of the La Nina? Maybe, but I don't really know.
