Re: Help with new kites

Wow, so you bring it to the window and then backstall it. I wondered at what point backstalling is dangerous. A 15m in 15kts might be challenging (is it?) but is a 6m in 15kts? All the videos say to only do it light winds which seems a little nutty. I have no one to discuss it with at the beach so i...

Re: Help with new kites

Update. I've laid the kites out several times and attached the bars and now feel I know what I'm looking for so I'm more comfortable. I've flown the 10m and 6m and I'm really loving the kites especially how much less stuff I need to bring. I'm getting better at solo launching and I have to solo land...

Re: Skimboard to hydrofoil conversion

I've done this to 2 skim boards. I used steel wool and marine epoxy with inserts. Frankly, I found the performance to be substandard compared to the pocket boards I use so not worth the effort. I thought the boards were stiff enough but they are too wide compared to other boards. Fun project with me...

Re: Help with new kites

Thanks guys. I'm going to go fly it today. I tried yesterday but couldn't get it launched. It's so weird to feel like a newbie. I ended up launching my cloud and had a great session but I want to use the foil kites. It was a crazy investment. I know I will love them but need a little help to get sta...

Help with new kites

Hi. I made the plunge and bought a quiver of FS Souls with SK Shapes bars. I"m super excited to get out on the water. I ent to the beach yesterday and the set up is very intimidating. One kite, a 6m, I bought used. It feels like the bridle may be a little screwed up but I'm not sure. How can I tell?...

Re: Liquid Force Rocket vs Liquid Force Galazy vs Slingshot Dwarfcraft Boards

I really loved the Rocket Fish. It handled any touchdown (and there were lots) and it was really comfortable. I now ride a Kanaha and Groove Skate but still look at the Rocket Fish with fondness. If you are near New England I will sell you mine cheap.

Re: Travel bag for pocket quiver

Good for you Tom. As a life long hockey player I can tell you they're super tough too. Hockey gear is always wet, smelly, sharp skate blades and they come in out of your car very roughly and always up and down cement stairs. They last for years. Any Lift wing users take note, it's one of the only ba...

Re: Travel bag for pocket quiver

I have the 44" and it handles the Groove skate, Mast and several one piece wings, kites, etc. https://www.icewarehouse.com/Hockey_Goalie_Bags/catpage-GBAGS.html For smaller boards I use this https://www.icewarehouse.com/Bauer_650_Carry_Bags_37/descpage-B6CBL.html I did not get charged for the smalle...

Re: Travel bag for pocket quiver

For big trips I use the Epic bag and you can bring everything, including fishing gear which I usually bring. It's too big however. Last year I started using hockey bags because my board choice is smaller these days. I did not get charged for the hockey bag but that's not guarantee. I also bought a h...

Re: Durability of current Lift foils

I've owned the latest interation for 2 summers including the 32" and 36" masts as well as the 110, 130 and 170 wings. They are solidly built. I don't take great care of my gear and I've also had some brutal contact with rocks and it's incredible how little damage there was on the wing (small scratch...
