Re: Kiting in Cabarete while learning coding

I am actually curious as to where you stayed. Seawinds, Ultravioletta - both appeared to have crappy wifi, for my needs.. Interesting. You would think they have good wifi considering how fancy they are, but I assume they have shared wifi since they act more like a hotel than a condo. Bummer it turn...

Re: Advice re school in Cabarete Dominican Republic

Hola! I have a school smack in the middle of kite beach. www.kiteboardingcabarete.com. There are a few things to consider when choosing a school. Location: There are a few places on Cabarete Beach that are in the "wind shadow" so you will end up walking down the beach to get to the wind zone. In my ...

Re: Kiting in Cabarete while learning coding

I tried working remotely from Cabarete for a month for my current job. To be honest the internet speed & consistency there sucks (for VPN/remote desktop and stuff...). Constant power outages, reset routers. I don't think I had a single day without any issues. I had to break in to a couple of nearby...

Politics aside, I'm excited if more of the local kids here have a chance to show a wider audience their talent. Hopefully there will be some live streaming and media coverage. :thumb:

Re: Cabarete: What size are the waves in summer time?

I live in Cabarete and just like Mitaka said, don't expect huge waves, although we always have some sort of waves because of the reef. I don't know anything about directional boards, so I can't give advice there. But it is windy season so bring your small kite! Here is an article I wrote on wind in ...

Re: Cabarete What size? Urgent!

I was on my 10 yesterday. I am about 135 lbs. Generally I ride my 8 and it is rare that I have to break out my 10. 17m???? I have never seen one hahaha. Don't trust the forecast. You can only trust the palm trees. Here is an article I wrote with 8 years of data: http://cabaretecondos.com/cabarete-wi...

Re: Cabarete for learning

I learned here 3.5 years ago. I am working on handle passes now. I think it is an awesome place to learn if you choose the right school. There is wind 300 days per year and it is not always crowded. In fact, right now there is almost no one here and it is the height of our windy season. There are 2 ...
