Re: Light wind Board Recommendation

Width is more important than length for surface area. Rectangular as apposed to rounded tips. Again that gives you the greatest surface area. Plummet's post and mine "crossed in the mail".......meaning I read his after I posted mine. As always, really good advice from Plummet. But since my comment ...

Re: Light wind Board Recommendation

Previous posts contain a lot of good information.....all personal opinion, of course, based on individual preferences in varying conditions. Best advice I can offer is demo as many boards as possible and decide for yourself which one is best for you. Having said that, here's another personal opinion...

Re: practise in light wind with just the kite

I agree with Starsky's advice. The only additional thought I'd add is to try to practice when the wind speed is fairly consistent. Even in light wind, if the wind is gusty, your kite won't behave the way you'd like. It is difficult to learn kite control in gusty wind, and if your kite falls out of t...

Re: Boosting high question

When riding from right to left, edge hard and send the kite to about 1 o'clock to boost. If you boost high, you then need to bring the kite back to 12 o'clock to get support ("float") from the kite as you descend. Keep the kite at 12 as you descend. Then pull hard on your left (front) hand about 5-1...

Re: Spotz customer service

Always great to hear positive reports on service! In the end, it's all about service. It's amazing how many businesses miss that basic concept. Kudos to Spotz. :thumb:

Recalling informal discussion with shop guy, retail roughly $4000 USD. Lots of carbon fiber. Dan at North, please jump in here to correct me or elaborate. Nice video on this site: http://www.northkiteboarding.com (No affiliation with North.)

Re: Big Companies Making HydroFoils

Just to clarify, North does indeed have a foil board that can be ordered from any North Kiteboarding retailer. Due to the high retail price of our foil there are not many shops stocking them at all times, but they are available in most places (including North America) right now. I saw the North foi...

Yes they are. Load and pop kite position doesn't change. You'll use your load and pop technique later for sent-kite boosting and lots of other hooked and unhooked tricks. Learn load and pop first (kite position doesn't change).
