Re: Levitaz 2017

Hi Adri, From the pictures I've seen of the people riding Leviaz in China, they all use "big" stabs instead of the Bionic stab. Fuselage length seens also shorter than the Bionic. Can you explain the reason for this? Is it a standard Aspect stab or a different design? Thanks, Ben Exactly what is up...

Re: Copper Aluminum paste as tef gel alternative ?

You should not use lithium grease in marine application. Get either a plain grease for marine use or one with high PTFE content which is basically what Tef Gel is.

Re: Copper Aluminum paste as tef gel alternative ?

Do not use anything with copper on aluminum it is meant for steel-steel connections, not dissimilar materials. Normal grease without copper for marine use is fine, get the PTFE loaded versions if you want something that is similar to tef gel.

Re: Storm voyager 4

I think the 9 with three struts is good for foiling, not much of a wave surfer so cannot comment. I had it on 20 m and with that line length the overlap to the 12 is minimal (used 25 for the 12). It is not super grunty but is easy to position right in the window and does produce insane power spikes ...

Re: Storm voyager 4

12 m Voyager 3 is a good size for most people. Fits well for lighter guys and normal women foiling. If you are above 90 kg or like to ride powered in 7-8 knots get the 15. Been spending a lot of time a under powered this summer on the 12 m and it just hangs in the sky even in ridiculously low winds ...

Re: Gong strutless v2

Also Storm makes a few good struttless kites in sizes 12 and 15. Really nice for foiling and playing around in light winds, good turning speed and pull for their size.

Re: one strut vs strutless

The strutless Voyagers behave very well in the air and turn well. Got the 12 and it is a seriously fun kite in light wind and it relaunches well. Turning is super tight which also makes it easy to handle once the wind picks up. It is definitely not a big air boosting machine, but for foil surfing it...

Re: 7 kn of wind, who will win AC45F (America's cup boat) or kite foil?

On an upwind downwind course they would probably be equally fast. The VMG up and downwind look very similar to what the top HF racers are doing if you look at the VMG in the races with sub 10 knots wind. Even with the reach start and finish I think the top racers will be fine, the AC50s peak at aro...
