Re: Slingshot WF1 + 76cm Infinity for Kite Foiling

I'm learning to kitefoil and describing all of the normal things that frustrate beginners, will spending more money make me a better kiter?

Time on the water. Keep at it and you'll someday laugh at this thread.

Re: I bought a speedboard!

Definitely impact equipment...those crashes are no joke! The crashes are nothing compared to going fast on a foil and going down. I would take a 45 knot crash on a speed board over a 30 knot foil board crash! Interestingly, I too also have one of those, same tack. I have a Lost Cause opposite tack ...

Re: Switching from foil kite to high aspect LEI kite. Worth or not?

What do you mean when you say gust resistant? Like, your foil kites collapse when riding in gusts, or the experience of launching/landing in high winds? Flapping ears and sudden collapses. Sometimes having to work the bar like I'm rowing a boat, full in and full out in rapid succession. Hmm, that's...

Re: Switching from foil kite to high aspect LEI kite. Worth or not?

But for now I'm thinking of getting something more gust resistant for moderate winds. What do you mean when you say gust resistant? Like, your foil kites collapse when riding in gusts, or the experience of launching/landing in high winds? My experience with tube kites is that gusty conditions are a...

Re: Switching from foil kite to high aspect LEI kite. Worth or not?

To answer the original post: don't do it. It'd be a laugh to go grab a huge Zephyr and not have to "worry" about a foil kite and all that, but the loss of performance and range at my spot would cut your rideable days in more than half. You might get enough wind that you can always ride small tube ki...

Re: Seat Harness Manufacturers

Ride Engine is about to release a new seat harness design. It was recently teased on their Instagram account. I think they are being officially released next week (along with an entire line of harnesses). While I haven't seen the seat harness in person, I have seen some of the new designs and they ...

Re: foil cavitating, ventilating, broaching, solution

I don't know if this is related, but when we ride our race gear in chop, there's often a point of sail that above a certain speed you get a sucking/ventilating effect in crosswind swell. So the setup is wind and swell not perfectly aligned, going downwind fast, as you ride through a cross-swell, som...

Re: thinner race lines on my slingshot compstick,,,recommendations

SK shapes sells racing lines in Europe, shipping to US is cost prohibitive for just a line set.

I buy Liros DC in bulk from Greenhat and splice my own. If someone would like a set made, shoot me a PM.
