Re: The “Other” Tack

Coming from the strapless surfboard world, and from windsurfing way before that, this is the tack that felt the most natural or familiar initially, as opposed to the roll tack. So I stick to that with foiling. Only had 2 of them so far where the board didn't touch down... A fine exercise in weightle...

Re: Issue BWS Stallion V2

Bit of a shame, cause due to the shorter sizes and low volumes we can get away with for kitesurfing, you can have some incredibly strong boards that wouldn't be too heavy. For instance Franz Olry's Alkita boards use a PVC core and this came with a 5 years warranty. I thought he was joking when he sa...

Re: Issue BWS Stallion V2

(...) BWS answer was: « That’s the horror movie, that’s it » Frankly, that’s the worst after sale customer service that i never had, point! (...) To be honest, I'm not too sure that this reply is negative, could be an attempt at making humour or something, which doesn't always work well with some c...

Re: The Duotone Wing

As much as the upwind abilities of those Wings have yet to be proven, even if a few users are blessed enough to have convenient downwinder arrangements to not really care about that, the Carrot is pretty much doomed from the start in terms of upwind ability. Looks cool though !

Re: Kites available in sizes smaller than 4m?

Agreed with Peter that longer lines smoothen out and broaden the range of very small kites (...) There's something a bit strange happening with very small kites and long lines (talking about 4m /surfboard conditions). Strong winds would make the line drag much more noticeable, and would tend to mak...

Re: The Duotone Wing

Kitesurfing a wave down the line, on a downwind angle, you are attached to a harness attached to 21m of lines, possibly needing to sine or loop the kite to keep it in the air, and possibly straining against the harness on extreme toeside angles while carving. In contrast, with a wing, you might use...

Re: Speed Record for hydrofoiling ?

Isn't there a hard limit due to cavitation effects?
Whereas things that essentially skim the surface aren't that affected, provided they can control an enormous amount of power?

Re: The Duotone Wing

(...) I use my 6' SUP and 84" wing to surf 600m long waves that are more or less unsurfable with any other craft. I do it with a paddle in my hands. If I can get the same surfing experience, but without paddling, that seems like a good trade ... worthy of the attempt at least. I fully understand th...

Re: The Duotone Wing

"more freedom of motion than either windsurfing or kitesurfing" Upper body freedom of motion, maybe... That's kind of ignoring the elephant in the room, namely the fact that you're riding a chunky SUP with a BIG foil, for which the agility is questionable. Sell your product, but don't oversell bulls...
