Re: Skimboard foils

I use a skim as a full time foil board. Challenge was to find one strong/stiff enough but still simple enough to do a clean mount. The size for me is pretty perfect for my natural stance with just enough nose to work. Mine has quite a bit of rocker for a skim. Works really well for all but the absol...

Re: Unhooking for big boys!!

The solution is all about direction of travel. Really hard to work on this stuff while trying to hold your ground. Try making your line throughout the load, pop and landing point further downwind. The whole thing is going to cost you ground, not just the time in the air. Instead of traveling across ...

Re: The Perfect Quiver

If you want get picky, double of the exact same kite don't count. I personally wouldn't even count different years of the same model if the size is the same and they are not all that different. Quiver kind of denotes to me different kites with different strengths to cover different conditions. 5 of ...

Re: What are best wetsuits for winter windy extreme conditions?

Drysuit is the warmest, but the drag is a deal breaker. I have the last generation of the OR surf drysuit which is totally swimmable, but they don't make it any more. It works as advertised, super comfy, better range of motion than a wetsuit and as warm as you layer it. It's a crazy layering concept...

Re: The Perfect Quiver

5x5, 5,5, 2x6, 3x8, 9, 10, 2x11, 3x12, 13, 14, 15, 16 Seriously? 22 kites! So is that considered a quiver or a collection? You only get to count the ones that hold air and are ready to fly. I definitely understand the need for redundancy. You need enough stuff that breaking something is a pause, no...

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

Pretty much everything Bic makes is plastic. It's kinda their thing. Taken from their current windsurfing site Reffering to their new high end construction: "With decades of experience in windsurf manufacturing BIC Sport is a pioneer and expert in the field of thermoformed composite construction tec...

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

Yes it's heavy. No, it's not plastic. And your better option doesn't include a foil. My bad, didn't see it was complete. Thought it was to go with a Chinese carbon knock off. FYI: Those boards certainly aren't glass on foam. They have a seam all the way round the rail between the two half thermo mo...

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

What??? 600 for a used foil fish board! That thing is heavy, plastic, and has very little nose rocker.

30 second search finds better options new.

How long are bridles on race kites?
