Changing line set for 2010 comp stick bar

Hey guys, I'm changing out my 23m lines for a set of 20m lines on my 17" comp stick bar. Is there anything I need to really pay attention to when I do this? I'm mostly wondering about the center attachment that is not connected to the safety. On my original lineset that specific line has somekind of...

Re: Slingshot rpm 2012

I weigh 185 ride a 132x41 and have 2011 rpm kites in sizes 6,9,12. The six is sweet!! I can actually ride it and start jumping at about 25 knots if I had to. In 30 knots it is even better! Waiting on 20M lines for one of my 17" bars too to increase speed and high end for my 9 and 6 if needed. I was ...

Cabarete in August-- how good is it?

What's up guys? I have been to Cabarete 3 times, usually either winter or spring. I have some time off in the 2nd week of August and I'm thinking about going back since I hear that the summer is the real windy season there.

How has it been so far this summer and how is August typically?

Re: Problems with Slingshot Compstick bar

I love my compstick bars! The only grip is the swivel as well but then again I perform a shit ton of rotations in the same direction as well as kiteloops and downloops. I typically have to pull in my center lines by hand and manually untwist the lines with the swivel after about 20-30 twists. I gues...

Re: Ever get tangled up with another kite?

Hmmmmm.....in barely a year and a half of kiting, I have a few stories! The first was last year when I let my friend who I will not reveal (Baxter) borrow one of my kites. My friend (Baxter) decides to perform a sent backroll upwind of me as I'm crossing. I know he didn't think I was close enough to...

Re: Is kitesurfing really addictive?

Definitely addicted. Having lived 4 hours from any big body of water (until I finally moved to the coast in Feb!) I found myself driving every weekend to someplace with wind! When I looked back at the last year, I realized I had spent an entire 2 weekends at home for the whole year! You can imagine ...

Re: Kites and gusts

Typically, kites with a higher aspect ratio handle gusts very well whereas kites with a low aspect ratio (very grunty) don't handle gusts as well.
