Calm down...nothing has been decided and there wont be hard restrictions like in some European countries/beaches/lakes.
Lot's (if not most) of the area of NE'ern Brazil lives from kite tourism and they wont shoot themselves into the neck.

The battery cost about $25. I'd say it would take about the same space as a regular pump volume wise. It weighs a bit more but not much. Well worth not having to pump at all. and if the battery dies? I broke my femur 2 years ago in La Ventana. Coming up on the aniversary of that glorious day. Shit happens kiteboarding. For me it was one foot came out of the strap, the other did not.
