Re: Gin Marabou Water Relaunchable Single Skin

Kitexpert, what style of riding are you into, twin tip or maybe you're boosting 20m on a hf? Maximising L/D for upwind and boosting aren't necessarily going to be high on the list for people getting into foiling. Stability in gusts and lulls, drift, responsive turning, and easy launch/landing are us...

Re: Gin Marabou Water Relaunchable Single Skin

Thanks for the translation, i am a bit short in time this week. I can re-translate one or two sentences if automatic translation is not clear Does technical refer to bar pressure required, or turning speed? ... The Marabou seems less technical than the Peak, easier to drive, it overhangs less and i...

Re: Gin Marabou Water Relaunchable Single Skin

We had the chance to test it in south france here in 4m and 6m in 11-12 knots, in french sorry : http://www.lesfoilz.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4448&start=30 Regis, any chance you could translate the following comments? Google translate isn't making it easy to understand. I'm interested to hear...

Re: Best Smart Watch

Hey guys, We've just published a little review of the most suited smartwatches for kitesurfing, might be interesting. A friend got the apple watch and loves it, especially the possibility to give a call when paired with your Iphone's sim, always reassuring when doing long distance or in offshore wi...

Re: Foil vs LEI: how does the riding differ

You can test the slack ability of a kite quite easy standing on the beach, no running needed :-) . Simply pull in a length of front lines and let go. The more front line it can handle and how well it recovers and (if it) stays in the air the better a kite is at slack. I tested this when I first fle...

Sorry but if the lines are not slack, they have tension, which means they have to be pulling you.
The thing I liked about drifters was the drift, but the peak 4 is hilarious in comparison. The peak becomes invisible when you head downwind on a hydrofoil in swell, no competition.

Re: Foil vs LEI: how does the riding differ

The drift with a Peak4 is next level compared to a wave LEI, absolutely wipes the floor. It's very different to other kites, and I wouldn't make any assumptions until you've tried one. The peak floats along like a stable plastic bag in the wind when you head towards it. The power can be turned compl...

Re: WtF man. Will I ever learn transitions...?

A bigger wing and a more mellow kite (wave kite, or peak4) would make a big difference. I take it you can already carve back and forward to toeside, seeing as you mention foot changes? Seeing my friend learning to foil, I think learning to pump the foil is a good idea early on, because it requires q...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Jatem: Not a great source for that question. I kite mostly in 2-4 feet of water. Looking for deeper water but it's a struggle without getting into very questionable situations. I routinely drive my foil into the bottom on a 24" mast. Self rescued a LEI 2 weeks ago in deep water and didn't think it ...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

You guys are killing me here. I was considering adding a 12 meter Soul for light wind days (surf wing, 80kg) and using my 5 meter FS4 for 12+ knots. Now I'm not sure if I should try a larger Peak. I kite in a lot of questionable wind shadows and am very often dropping my Neo. Thoughts? I purchased ...
