From the ss web sites. But there's NO way you should compare wind range #'s from two manufacturers. There's no way they'd have the same standard (e.g., rider size, board size, and even what constitutes range - is the high end just fully powered or even experts can't hold an edge, etc.). the actual sizes of the 2004 11 is 11.6 and 13 13.5 so the 11 is
closer to what you have

Why OC? SF is almost always windier. And if you're getting on a plane,

I think the biggest problem is a big ego. A beginner shows up wanting
to look cool and not need help. Beginners should know there's no
way they'll look cool, so they might as well be safe and not trash their
gear and ... and ask the locals: "can you help me, I'm just starting out"...

the main spots are near the airport and in the south at parosonisi.

while most spots on the west coast should work with the wind direction, some may be too crowded or too narrow a beach.

i don't know cabarete. but in august maui has a virtual wind guarantee.
i've been multiple times in my windsurf days and *never* had a
skunk day. check the logs at ikitesurf.com. it really must be about 90%
or higher if you go to the south shore.

i'm going this year kiting for the first time....
