Re: How many sessions to replace a kite

I have two kites with 170 sessions each and they look like they will hold up for another 100 sessions at least. Generally, I use them in powered up conditions but do not leave them flapping on the ground nor exposed to the sun. No washing, just keeping it clean of sand and dirt as much as possible w...

Re: Shorten Line Length for Onshore Wave Conditions

Hello again on this older subject. I have been out on 20m lines for a few sessions now and wanted to report back to you, also for the benefit of those who may have similar doubts now or in the future. I love riding my 6m and also my 8m kite with the 20m lines. It took me only three sessions to adapt...

Re: Duotone NEO SLS 2022 - where did the quality go?

Done a little video of my exploded edge and the SLS material from the inside but can’t add it. Agree with the above. Prices getting so dear now but the quality is no better so more likely to lose large amounts of cash now and far greater risk to the consumer when the companies don’t look after you....

Re: Duotone NEO SLS 2022 - where did the quality go?

Let me start of by saying that I am not the kind of person that gets annoyed ... it is always amazed me how people usually find crappy quality as one time accident. in fact these kinds of accidents are quite common. if you have a spare time and patience to research, you will find a lot of evidence ...

Re: Duotone NEO SLS 2022 - where did the quality go?

So many negative stories on the "newer" Duotone kites affecting different areas in the kite commented over a long periods of time in different forums have convinced me that there is a real problem and that this is not just Duotone bashing. At least to me it does not look like a few clients making a ...

Re: Do wind parks effect winds?

Nice summary, picture and graphs. Only to add that windspeed has also a strong influence on how far the wake behind an obstacle. I vaguely remember from school some simplified formula that calculated the wake length in function of wind speed and obstacle height and a constant depending on the obstac...

Re: Understanding wind, tides, thermals

A summer thermal spot I do frequent produces very marginal conditions for kitesurfers who do not foil or use very big kites or both. Given this is the case I have observed a few factors which will influence the wind strength margin +/-2 or 3 knots which will determine if I can actually go on the wat...

Re: Shorten Line Length for Onshore Wave Conditions

I have it just like Alex, smaller kite and "normal" lines 20-22 m works far better for me, no matter what wind direction. It is VERY indidual what one likes as said. The most important thing vela99, is that you go with a different line length, and STICK to it for a long time. Even a tad difference ...

Re: Shorten Line Length for Onshore Wave Conditions

Use 20-23 m lines with 4 m wave kite. Its far better than 5 m kite with shorter lines in such conditions. Longer path of the kite and smaller kite size will give you far more possibilities on the wave. Hello alekbelia, Is this because of the commented increased on/off behaviour with short lines? Co...

Re: Shorten Line Length for Onshore Wave Conditions

I almost exclusively kite waves. Both side on and side off conditions, small to well overhead. I've been using 19 meter lines for years (on Neo's) and I'm very happy with the performance. Recently I had an issue with one of my bars and had to go out on 22m lines. Seemed like it took FOREVER for the...
