Re: 633 too small, but...?

633 is not the square cm in area? I am almost 115kg and my newest wing design is only 765 sq cm. If I can plane my board then I can foil on the wing but it does have minimal roll stability, I am putting a little more excersise in small fast movements to keep under control, it would make a good mid w...

Re: Vayu V2 Wing Review

Great review from Hadou. As he is a lighter rider and I'm almost 115kg, inflation pressure is marked as 7PSI, I have asked him how he thinks the Vayu V2 leading edge will react to a heavier rider.

Re: Tubercle wings and my moulding process

Interesting process! I’m tempted to give it a go. A couple of questions: 1) What do use for “food sealing bags”? All those that I have seen (including rolls) have a patterned (embossed?) inner surface, I assume to help trapped air escape (similar function to infusion mesh). Maybe a thin, lay flat p...

Re: Wingsurfing wing construction

... I think ram air wings and ram air under-membranes would be much more productive research avenues for you. Do consider that you will be holding the wing structure and any offsetting of it's weight by aparent wind's lift will be a parasitic drag. I think, you may be correct , on that assessment ;...

Re: Wingsurfing wing construction

I wonder if there may be some big improvement coming that changes everything. The wing resurgence is only 3 years old, there was an initial race to market, and it seems pretty clear everyone copied the early adopters just with small tweaks. On the other hand, there’s a whole bunch of extremely smar...

Re: Wingsurfing wing construction

... If rigid wings are most effective when fully powered, then maybe that’ll be a race thing. Anyways...will be interesting to see what evolves in next few gens. If done properly ; a rigid will have a Way more usable speedrange . Bille Your question at the beginning was close, yes inflateables are ...

Re: Rocker Modification for early takeoff

Windsurf race boards have been messing about with tail design for efficient release for many years. May be worth taking a look if you have not already done so! I noticed that one too. They are doing the same as for many recent America's cup boats, maximising waterline length at higher lift out of t...

Re: Foil design idea

... https://simpleflying.com/boeing-787-wing-curve-take-off/ ... In my opinion this article partly comes to wrong conclusions. I doubt that less drag is a direct result of wing flexibility. Thinking this article describes it more accurate: https://www.newfoxy.com/2016/07/25/boeing-787-dreamliner-wi...

Re: Foil design idea

I like that he want to explore new possibilities. There is something about flex. I can made interface for more effcient energy transfer. PM me. I know a lot about flexible composite structures. But you need somebody with deep aero/hydro knowledge to execute this You're right and personally I've fou...
