Re: nearly got caught up in lines...

Instead of releasing tension on all lines except for one, you can also flag out the kite by pulling in only one line until it is the only line with tension. This method is good to remember when your spreader bar hook gets wrapped with lines and you can't throw the quick release or your leg gets wra...

Re: nearly got caught up in lines...

whilst bobing alongside the kite (the calm before the storm) would you : 1. have pulled the safety? 2. pull safety and release kite completely? 3. swim towards the kite, hoping to reach it before it re-launches and then self rescue? 4. swim directly away from the kite (and lines)? 5. other ? 5. oth...

No, they are not part of Eclipse.

I bought a board from them in December. They were very responsive then, answering my e-mails right away.

Re: out for 3 weeks :(

from experience, does applying white vinegar immediately to sea urchins in your feet etc. really get it out or dissolve it ? Yes, but you have to be a bit patient, it's not a one-minute cure. Sea urchin spines are almost completely made from calcium. Just like vinegar will dissolve calcium buildup ...

Re: American Kitesurfer dies in Phuket (Fri)

Swimming: Swimming seems very dangerous in the low season when it is windy. Again NaiYang looks safest. Do not ignore red flags. Most beaches have no life guards. Seen reports about elite sportsmen almost drowning . I don't think it makes sense to consider swimming separately from kiting, and decid...

Re: Hindenburg.....What to do?

Yep, pulling on the front lines could also result in the following (2nd part of the video): :cool2: http://www.vimeo.com/24652705 I'm with edt and plummet on this one: * If you're on the beach, run upwind to tension the lines * If you're in the water and the wind is strong, throw the safey * If you'...

Re: Revolutionary backpack mount for Gopro

Q - imagine if you got the gopro tangled in the lines A - This is possible if you position the camera in front of you. But if it is behind you or even on the sides chances for that are very slim. During our testing we crashed many times to the water and there was no issue with that. But I cannot sa...

Re: Brain cells impaired during kite launches and riding

truth be told one need not be impaired to put one's self in peril with a Kite: It's the nature of the beast to lure the enthusiast to greater challenges, and yeah, that's just how it is. Hear, hear. The sad thing, of course, is that we are not unaware of this. On every occasion that I have been in t...
