Re: What lightwind kite should I choose for a small rider?

Understand that the BRM C2 17m has really bad upwind performance and does not jump. I only ride mine with my skimboard where doing surface tricks is still fun. I would advise the Soul 15m as the easy choice if you have the $$$. The only reason to go for a Sonic is if you want to race. There are a bu...

Re: Need some advice as a new guy.

Maybe try the Kaneohe Sandbar at low tide, you'll need a SUP or kayak to get there and the wind quality is much worse but having a mile of knee deep flat water that you can just walk back upwind with your kite in the air will make up for that. If you are considering doing runs of Kailua beach I woul...

Re: starting on duck tack to toeside

This is correct. Of course it's a tack or a gybe - regardless of whether you change feet or not. If you take the nose of the board through the eye of the wind and travel back in the opposite direction, you have tacked. Same for the gybe. To call it a carve if you don't swap feet is incorrect. I thi...

Re: Why isn't sliding rope bar more prevalent?

I tried 3 different sliding systems and had the same issues. Once I switched to Fireball I haven't wanted to go back (and I don't ride Cab kites). My only issue with it is that it's a bit of a safety issue if you don't keep an eye on it as it has a tendency to spin in the socket and wrap your leash ...

Re: Is strapless overrated?

The gist of my story was that I hated the LF KiteFish at first and thought it was inferior. But in the end, I came to push it beyond what anything but a custom reinforced strapped kitesurfing board could do (and withstand) for a 100kg rider Hey Matteo, I'd be interested to hear what you thought of ...

Re: Is strapless overrated?

Honestly the though of riding a SB strapped feels about as wrong as riding a TT strapless. I don't begrudge others who like riding strapped SB, but the idea that I have to keep my feet in one set position would be awful. On top of that most of the really good strapless SB don't have inserts anyway, ...

20 degree water in Peru vs. 30 degree water in Brazil ... pretty easy choice.

Re: October wind and sun travel.

We found some listings to buy villas in Tenerife where we can lodge up to 2 coaches and 6 students without going over the 250K € mark but we are still looking for other options in Portugal. Do you think Tenerife's a good place for training and if it's worth that amount of money? Do you know any oth...
