Re: Small wing foil for kite foil (sk8, armstrong, ketos...)

My kite wing is the Axis PNG910B which is a crossover wing that I use for downwind wave surfing and love it. It's also a great wing for winging as well. Not sure how much you'd like it for flat water though. Sounds like the Axis Spitfire 840 might fit better for what you want.

Re: How do you glide?

Many thanks! Exactly what I was looking for. Any input on how the aspect ratio of the kite affects lift and speed? I have 8m and 13m Peak4s and a 10m Soul and weigh just 70 kg, was hoping that the Peaks might be good enough. I both prefer the easy handling of the Peaks while touring and was hoping ...

Re: Aluula 3 strut - Evo vs NVision vs Hypermodel

Who wants to be foiling on a 14m kite though? Seriously unless you weight 100 kg+ or use a HA race kite a 12m is the most you'd want to foil with. Sounds like a 12m FS Soul might suit you well, most other kites will be too little for the TT and too much for the HF though. On a typical summer day at ...

Re: Kite brands easy to travel with

Fine. Go ahead fly a 1 strut kite in 25k+ knots. I would never build my full quiver on 1 strut kites. Just agree Aluula is a weight saver and also packs down smaller due to the thinner struts and LE. But you would not of course. Just trying to help the topic opener here. And I find you annoying. By...

Re: Kite brands easy to travel with

Well I don't...I would never twintip on a 1 strut kite. Besides that, a 5 strut OR Aluula kite is (way) lighter than a Dacron 3 strut kite. A 3 strut Aluula kite is lighter than a 1 strut Dacron kite. So if you want light packable kites, check Aluula. Only looking at struts is outdated. Well you pr...

And if you want a 'normal' kite with struts, go for the OR Aluula ones. That better?
There are lots of 1 strut kites that I would consider "normal" kites and outside of powered kiteloops behave the same as 3 or 5 strut kites.

Re: Kite brands easy to travel with

Ocean Rodeo aluula kites obviously..the lightest and small packed ones in the market. If money is not an issue This is definitely not true as OR do not offer any single strut or 0-strut kites. Losing struts will always trump everything else when it comes to packed size and weight. If you want the s...

Re: Wingfoil is building faster than everything

But have found out from others, and now I do it myself, that key is to use smaller and faster more low drag foilwings, so you can ride waves diagonally even if wind is same direction. Does this work for open water wind swell where any given bump is only about 3-6m wide? I can see it working with gr...

Re: Are you afraid of sharks?

No...but I rely on statistics to make risk assessments. You are more likely to be injured by your lawn equipment or a meal -- do you worry about those? Shark based statistics are very misleading as they count the entire human population and like 70% of people never swim in the ocean. There are cert...

Re: Wingfoil is building faster than everything

How come you don't flag the wing and surf a bit? Even with your wide angle (making waves look 5 times smaller) I can see you have just fine wind swells :naughty: His conditions look like typical on-shore small wind swell in 16-20 knots, I find that in those conditions you can't really flag the wing...
