Re: sitting on the board to relaunch

I have a low volume board and don't find it helps to try and sit on it when LW relaunching.

Instead I wear a second leash and leash up the board before attempting the relaunch, that way if it's too light to get it back up I don't lose the board.

Re: Skimboard foils

I mounted my original LF foil to a LF twinskim and it's worked great, no straps though. I don't understand why width would be an issue, you're only on the board for a second before you take off on to the foil.

Are skim boards good for touchdowns and rail strikes? Nope, they aren't.

Re: Naish Foiling 2018

Sup kiting is actually a lot more difficult ( and less functional) than you would think, I am an avid sup surfer and kiter and having given sup kiting a bit of a go I put it firmly in the why bother category. Adding a foil might improve the situation but that's an experiment I wouldn't invest in. I...

Re: Hydrofoiling transitions in 5 knots

I am only puzzled why everyone says that tacking is easier/safer when on the edge of to low-end. It's easier because to jibe you'll be headed straight downwind at around 10 knots, when there is only 6 knots of wind that means slack lines. It's safer because you have the chance of catching a wingtip...

Re: Hydrofoiling transitions in 5 knots

I'm not a great foiler, only just started doing flying jibes even though I've been foiling for a few years. The reason is that I only foil in light wind, often such that dropping the kite means a swim in. In those conditions working on foiling jibes is a big risk so I rarely do it. My go to techniqu...

Re: Naish Foiling 2018

I’m referring to it being hard to get kite to pull you up to your feet. Once standing, it’s easy to foil it. Getting to your feet on a massive sup, is nothing like getting up strapless on a surfboard. Surfboard is easy by comparison With the board being 120L as long as you weigh under 100 kg you ju...

Re: Naish Foiling 2018

Starting it flat is also super hard. I'm curious why it's hard to start flat. I would imagine you just learn the foot placement behind a boat or as SUP on a wave then just put your feet there and start power strokin'. When you start on a normal kite foilboard you get up a a planing hull first, then...

Re: Naish Foiling 2018

I would love to hear from someone who has the Hover 120 or Hover 95 and the large surf foil how it behaves with a kite. Why would I want to ride a slow foil on a giant board? Well for one if people can have fun on that setup with a sail, surely it would be more fun with a kite. Also a big part of th...

Re: Fireball & Swivel

So does that mean it does still work one handed as long as you spin it a certain way?

Fireball & Swivel Danger

Question for all you Fireball users out there, does the swivel still work one handed or does the ball just spin in the socket instead causing your safety line to get wrapped around it?
