Re: what kind of lubricant should I use on a kite pump?

The above vid recommends white lithium grease for the GRI pumps. Hopefully this is the OEM recommendation but could not find it on the relevant website. As an aside, I used silicon spray on the older Bravo type for many years but the modern pumps are a lot better IMHO. Anyone actually found any inf...

Yes you can buy the gaskets by themselves for some pumps such as the WMFG pump. go on their website I think it's $12.

How do you know so much about chemistry?
I don't. I just have used up so many of these damn air pumps that I had to spend a day or two to learn more about how and why which lubricants work because I got tired of buying new pumps all the time.

Re: what kind of lubricant should I use on a kite pump?

do not use any petroleum based product this includes lithium grease wd 40 motor oil or vaseline. The reason is that if you have a silicone based rubber it tolerates petroleum solvents, however, any kind of butyl rubber or styrene-butadiene rubber (sbr) or nitrile rubbers will decay on contact with a...

Re: Want to break the Woo World Record, go snowkiting

the woo is for ordinary kiters to compare themselves to their friends. that's the main purpose. ordinary kiters don't want to compare snow jumps to water jumps. If this does turn into a big thing they will make a snow category and squirrel your jumps away in that category and nobody will look at it....

Re: Bar for foiling

In fact a line snag can happen just as easy or easier if having floaters instead of a clean bar rearline/leaderline as shown in above post, or similar. I'll have to disagree with you there. Floaters definitely help prevent that death loop bar wrap especially if you are trying tricks that make you c...

Re: Bar for foiling

Why use floaters? Floaters are very useful. They help prevent death loop chicken line wraps. If you have to use the QR, if the control bar is a sinker, it can go straight to the bottom and get snagged. The kite might then power up and drag you under water. It also makes it easier to lose the contro...
