Re: Flysurfer VMG

Interesting, is there some forum info on this anywhere? Foilonfoil, how's the adjustment from the Sonic2 to Race? Sonic Race and VMGs are beautiful kites - a higher aspect ratio than the Sonic 2’s provide a more agile kite - fast moving. The 18m Race moves almost as quick as a 15m Sonic2. I find th...

Re: Flysurfer VMG

Focus is to get them out to the racers first. New wing profile and new bridle system. Improved stability but feedback is an incremental update from Race. Race will continue to be available for another 18 months. I just upgraded from Sonic 2’s to Race. New bridle may eventually be retrofitted to Race...

Sewing line loops...

Any tricks on how to using a sewing machine to sew up the ends of lines. I using a solid core spectra line that cannot be spliced and just want to sew the loops. Is there a special foot for a sewing machine someone can point me to? Edit - I just for this but if anyone has other methods, let me know....

Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

Foilonfoil, I rarely use the trim strap, perhaps once every 20 sessions. For me I find enough trim just using my arms. One thing that helps is to not use a hook, I use a Mystic or Ride Engine harness with my chicken loop attached directly to the sliding rope. This gives me lots of adjustment trim. ...

Good man. Its very liberating being able to make ones own. Dont be surprised if you end up helping some fellow kiters as well.
Happy to do so!

Re: Havent been kiting for over a month..... Dont care!

The longer the break due to injury or business travel, the less inclined I feel about getting back on the water. One on the water, I cannot wait for my next session.

Re: Corrosion on Aluminium parts (Moses fuselage)

Clamping aluminum and carbon fiber together without isolation is a problem. The anodizing on the aluminum will not provide enough isolation. There needs to be plastic isolation between the wings and fuselage and the bolts that secure the wings also need isolation via tefgel or lanolin ideally togeth...

Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

I agree that you want to ride slightly de powered in light wind, but you can do this by riding with the bar out a bit from the chickenloop, no reason to pull the depower strap, unless you have short arms. It had a lot to do with the differences with kites we are flying and their behavior when thing...

Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

Light wind riding is indeed a skill. I fly only foil kites mostly flysufer so hear are some tips. Since u indicted tht your kites have been tuned and use a big board then the first thing u want to learn how to do is is to depower the kite in very light winds , most lei riders don't understand this ...

Re: Flysurfer-specific training?

Light wind kite flying is much about kite skill first and equipment second. Strong looping skills both back loops and front loops are required irrespective if what kite you fly. 1. Where are you? 2. Reach out and find a local foil kiter who is on the racing circuit. They are a great foil kite traini...
