Re: Glide Landing Question

Fun personal observations from first real day of gliding for the year. For reference I fly backwards, strapped with a snowboard in a climbing harness with a waist harness on a 15m foil with 18m lines. Speed is my friend: When taking off slowly, I would accidentally engage a very fast rotation, super...

Re: Soul with an SS bar

My initial concern was with sheeting out and trim, im tuning the bar not to have any trim but a big throw to sheet out. For trimless bar setup I think Soul's full sheeting range with bar and depower strap is somewhere in 70cm/27inch area. But measure to be exact I mean if steering lines are loose -...

Re: Soul with an SS bar

Rome, Modern kite bar and line sets are engineered for high loads such as kite loops. The problem with a 4 line bar is lose one line and you don’t glide to the earth, you plummet like a stone. So, first rule of thumb with gliding is to not glide higher than you are willing to fall. Gliding high and...

Re: tack on the snow

Perhaps, it is obvious to you what you are doing, but it would really help if you had someone else film you. I can’t tell what you are doing from the video. Thank you. Kenny ask Jake to demonstrate a tack, he does these so smoothly and easily it's deceptive. You would have seen him do this countles...

Re: Neilpryde Mission FZ or BZ and other misc.

I like Glacier Glove Kenai Waterproof Gloves and Oniell heat booties, 4-5mm should do the trick. They get me by with a 4/3 psycho tech hooded suite in water in high 40s and air in high forties. I made the mistake of getting 7m booties and I cant feel my foil board under me, the surfboard also feels ...

Re: Downloops on surfboard

Same problem for me: but I know why it happens to me: 1. to much edge pressure when starting the loop -> when pressure is released - it „bungees“ you towards the kite -> slack lines , no steering 2. beeing afraid and starting to go towards the kite BEFORE the initial steering. -> Slow kite turning ...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

How about the possibility to fly a Soul on a Ozone 4 line bar? Is it real? Should fly perfectly with any four line Ozone bar. I fly it with a 2017 ss sentinal bar and 18m lines, the bar intended for the ss foil which bombed Misérables … could use more throw but works well in no to 30kn wind

Re: 2021 LEI kites for airstyle

Edge is dope, be aware that they are a disseased hooker to relaunch in low wind when they fall in the water. One of our local riders sends massive with an orbit, but he rides a 9m not sure if what the largest size they have. out of curiosity, what size foil do you have and what do you not like about...

Best Kites

Is BEST still around? I keep seeing advertising and I do have a soft spot in my heart for BEST TS kites even though i have almost fully converted to foil kites. I still have the old TS quiver circa 2015 and curious how the newere TS kites are or if they bode well compared to the newer kites like the...

Re: How long is your drive to the Kiting Spot, how long is your Session, how exhausted are you after the session

For Water: Travel 23 min, 1 hour each way, depending on the spot Ride for 1 to 4 hours Tired after sesh but not into next day. For Snow: Travel 1 hr 15 min or 2 hr depending on the spot Ride for at least 2 hours unless wind is too punchy Tired into next day early season, getting used to the altitude...
