Re: Building a tiki

On the web there are lots of images and videos of alaias; here you can see how a classic bottom looks like: https://tomwegenersurfboards.com/sites/default/files/2012/02/Rastas-tail-601x400.jpg I have built a couple (both wooden and composite), you can actually get pretty creative with the bottom sha...

Re: Ozone Zephyr V5/6 17m or Ozone Hypelink v2 11/13m ?

I can share my history and experience with lightwind kites, maybe it helps in some way. Ozone Zephyr 17m - my first lightwind kite, it was the first-generation Zephyr. I used it with a twintip, an Alaia board, a raceboard (remember those big ones with 3 long fins?), also in winter with skis and snow...

Re: Ozone Zephyr V5/6 17m or Ozone Hypelink v2 11/13m ?

I have used only a very old Zephyr (the very first generation), it had a good pull but was heavy and somewhat slow turning. I have not used Hyperlink but have used a number of other foil kites. For the situation you are describing, I do not think you will get better upwind with Hyperlink. Hyperlink ...

Re: Plummet Mutant V3

That looks like a nice board but it isn’t exactly a mutant by my standard. These pics show the board in its "twintip" configuration. There is a lot of room to shift the footstraps back and fins can be changed as needed (the board has the standard FCS inserts). Ah ok, sorry! I take my words back the...

Re: Plummet Mutant V3

Inspired by Plummet's Mutant discussion, just finished building my own wave mutant (160x50 cm).

Re: Gin Marabou - Single-surface Kite

It is not meant to be a performance kite but it is lot of fun and versatile. It is relatively fast-turning in comparison with other foil kites, light, easy launch, good wind range.
