Re: How old is your oldest kite you still ride on?

If anyone is looking to replace almost any of the kites mentioned here please Private message me. I have acquired a large collection of old kites that are barely used including a lot of old foils mentioned here. Most are slated for recycling but I’d rather see them used so if interested, let me know...

Re: Lift introduces electric foil!

At $5k, these would have sold like Bacon. At $12,500 they might sell a few to Richard Branson and the rest of us get to wait until someone finds a way to make this at a better price. I would have thrown $5k at these guys faster than the ATM could spit it out. For $12k I'd rather have a waverunner or...

Re: 2016 North Rebel

hm, interesting. It took me some time to find the low-end of the Rebel 12m when I switched to them in 2014. At first I thought they had no low end but eventually figured it out and got used to it. Never needed anything bigger than my 12m Rebel once I got dialed. Upgraded to 2015 with no issues. Rode...

Re: Quiver advice: North Neo7m or Mono7m

Spent the weekend on the Mono 9m, but have never flow the Neo. I know the Mono seems to be marketed toward beginners (which I'm not) but I loved it. First day I was happily overpowered on a twin tip and was able to switch right off to a 7m Dice. The Mono did flutter a tiny bit when depowering but no...

Re: Oracle 2014 was it any good - user review please?

I got caught in the carafino scam/mess. Those 2 guys are not being dicks. They got scammed out of a LOT of money. But that's enough. I have and ride my Carafino board. It's the all-around style board, not sure what he called it. It is very heavy. We didn't receive the foils for these boards so we ma...

Re: How many are stuck with a Carafino board and no foil

We had an order of something like 10 Carafinos and got 1 foil, so ya, we're in the same boat. Personally, I don't mind the look of the board and didn't want to toss out a usable board. We've made adaptor plates for other foils. Mine is for an MHL Lift. The first adaptor we made was all aluminium and...

Re: North kite 2014 inflation valve

My $0.02 I LOVE the high flow valves on any brand and have had no issues pumping my 2014 Rebels. I rarely bring a pump to the beach unless I'm solo and borrow whatever is around. I've pumped with all sorts and the only time I found one that didn't work was when only 2 of us showed up and the pump ha...

Re: New Patagonia Gore-Tex Kiting Suit

Had my first session in the Patagonia R Dry neoprene drysuit this week. First thoughts: Very difficult to zip up when alone. There isn't enough tension in the back/shoulders/sleeves to really just pull the zipper line. I did all sorts of contorting to get that darn thing zipped. Getting it off your ...

Re: foil in San Diego

I lived and kited in SD for many years and still travel back and kite as often as possible. Boris speaks true. Most guys are in the bay on foil kites now and fast foils, but I have been pretty successful with a 12m or 14m tube kite and foil. The really light days pretty much require a foil kite as i...
