The Gambler has 5 fin boxes for Thruster and Quad setups....sounds to me like you should ride both boards before you compare them.

Re: Wainman Gambler 5.7 - Cabrinha Skillit 5.6?

@ Chooch can you give a comparaison betweern Passport and a skimboard? Thanks. To be honest I dont think any surfboard can compete with a skimboard in lightwind. Surfboard fins create a lot of drag slowing the board down. But you loose the stability in the surf with a skimboard so its a give and ta...

Re: Wainman Gambler 5.7 - Cabrinha Skillit 5.6?

Thanks Cooch, Have you tried it already? (Sounds a little bit like general marketing information :-) The width seems pretty maxed out - how does it work in mid sized surf? Weightwise - in comparison to the other WH boards heavier ... Is the 5.10 the "light wind tanker"? Anybody ridden one of them? ...

Re: Wainman Gambler 5.7 - Cabrinha Skillit 5.6?

Here are the specs on the Gambler 5'7" x 19 1/2" x 2 1/4" 7.60 lbs 5'10" x 20" x 2 1/2" 8.04 lbs The Gambler takes some characteristics from the Passport and Magnum to make it a great all purpose board. It's wide enough to be forgiving for strapless riding but the outline and tail shape keeps the bo...

Re: Wainman surf: passport and gambler: any feeback

interested to hear any feedback on the gambler or passports. i wonder if they could be too wide? Seem a lot wider than most designs about. There are plenty of other companies that have boards with similar widths.....not sure what your talking about. Your best bet is to take one out for yourself and...

Re: Wainman surf: passport and gambler: any feeback

So for a bit of backgroud, I had the 2010 5'9" Wainman Surf last year. I rode in a lot of different conditions (all strapless) that include 10'+ Swell, River Swell, Chop, and Flat water. I found the board to be best in the ocean swell, it was a little bit to narrow for strapless freestyle and chest ...

Re: Wainman Gypsy 6.5

Cheers for that folks ! Couple of other things while I'm at it !What wind strength does it start at (90kg on a surfboard ) and any recomendations on all these different connection points , looks a bit confusing ! Depending on the size and volume of your surfboard I would say that the 6.5 should get...
