Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

You're correct, the BRM bar does make contact with the QR. However, on the BRM bar, QR # 2 (total release of kite) sits directly behind QR #1 (flagging). I believe the argument would be if you are unable to flag with QR #1, QR #2 is right there within your grasp. With your setup it would be two mor...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

Tnx both JT and alford for your comments and makes a bit of sense, but I fail to see where would or could become a problem and in the interest of education not just being argumentative how is this any different from the BRM CR system? BTW do u guys see any issues with the 2 questions I had on my pre...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

Couldn't sleep last night so worked on the new center rope (made it dual layered this time) and took @iriejohn's suggestion of flipping things around see how this works and added a front line flag used my spare SS bungee to keep things tidy. BTW one thing I'd like to try out is adding a protective t...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

I believe the purpose of the horizontal distance between the front lines at the swivel is to allow the lines to untwist more easily. Bigger distance means a bigger turning moment that the lines can exert on the swivel. Reducing this distance should have no noticeable effect on the flying performanc...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

I like your set up even though you don't have a safety line or leash, I like how you have the Oh Shit handels instead. Imho, you could still improve by replacing the ss ring with a LFR. Tnx topmick, yeah the oh $h!t is what I was using I was really digging the kite looping like crazy when testing t...

Re: Chicken Loop Bye Bye?

This is bar far my fav thread of all time.

I've been messing around with customizing one of my bars. It started trying to drop some weight from it and make it simpler - with the least amount of moving parts - and is working super good.

This is probably my favorite thread of all time.

Re: what size kite to learn, 215lbs, 10-14kts?

Interesting, that's what I was afraid of happening. Thing with me is I am looking for a new 12 or 13 anyways. Put on about 15lbs since I bought this kite and getting left on the beach more and more it seems, plus it's old and tired, and some of the more aggressive features that appealed to me when ...

Re: what size kite to learn, 215lbs, 10-14kts?

When I picked up foiling I was 220 and got a LF solo 15.5 and the orange foil fish setup, the first few times out the 15 was great cause it got me out in the 10-14kts I needed the extra power while I figured things out, but gotta tell you that was short lived, once I figured things out (prob in abou...

Re: Slingshot wave sst 2016 vs 2017

Hey y'all don't mean to hijack the post but as I get more and more hooked on riding my directional I wonder about which is the best kite for the job and there seems to be a lot of experienced wave riders here that have tried a lot of brands. I currently ride 12/9 RPMs (2015) mainly cause I wanted a ...
