Re: losing traction in bottom turn

You probably just need bigger or stiffer fins. A few details about the board and fins would be helpful, as well your definition of "spin out." It is unlikely a board problem, but of course changing boards or fin configuration will alter the handling. What is your experience level with surfboards? Is...

Request to travelling kiters

1. Please ask what the rules are at any beach you visit. Should you ignore #1 and not know what the rules are, please do not argue with the local kiters when they inform you what you are doing is wrong. If they say "Do not do XXX," please do not reply "I am doing XXX for YYY" or "I am doing XXX beca...

Re: Thousands of migrating sharks are back in SE Florida

There is simply no better way to learn to jibe a directional than to practice during a shark migration.

Re: Dynabar: best way to bend it back to original curve?

Mine is definitely bent in the same manner. It is a v7 11 inch, only used with the rope and only used strapless on water.

I set it on a hard surface and pushed down to bend it back, but it re-bent the next time I used it.

Re: Why directional

Why a twin tip?....cuz a strapless directional is F'N hard. (too hard for some) Sorry Johnny, but this is plainly false. And part of the problem. I am a bad surfer, can barely ride a skateboard, and could rarely land a backroll on a tt, but I found riding a strapless directional to be surprisingly ...

Re: A Tour of the NW Coast of the USA...Video, Feedback plea

Caveat: I have zero movie making experience or knowledge. I personally enjoy the Warren Miller style of film making and narration. Just be sure each line of narrative has some value. "Forest Lake was one of our favorite spots" seems less interesting than "Table-top smooth water and a steady 28 knots...

Ducktack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1usHEJwpSTM Shuvit or surfboard or every other term tack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KZxyR8TIb4 Watch the body of the rider, ducktack the body goes the same way as the nose of the board. Shuvit tack the body goes the opposite way of the nose of the board.

Does anyone other than stefaans have a clue as to what "race tacking" is?

Could you please post a video or description?

Re: Experiment on a Kite, gets a Bad start !

I think your fabric has a higher thread percentage than the website. I count 26 threads in a 4" span in your photo. Each thread is 1/16" wide. Doesn't this make the percentage thread to Mylar 26/64, or ~ 40%? On their website I count 12 threads in a 4 cm span. Each thread is .1 cm wide. Isn't this p...
